*** The Official iPhone 17 thread (it has new camera bumps and everything!) ***

Finally got the 17 today, didn’t go pro as no need, impressed so far and nice upgrade from 13 pro.

I’ll wait until the pros have 3 lenses, all with aperture controls, but apple being apple its likely they will do this one lens at a time pro 18-21.

This is a lovely phone and brilliant bang for buck, got the 17 sage !

Next big upgrade is probably the 20. That's my guess anyway cause Apple went hard with the 10 back in the day, it received several major upgrades over the 8 (total new design, total new screen, total new camera, new software like Face ID etc), so hoping the 20th anniversary gets the same treatment - maybe it will be a folding phone

I picked my 17 up today as well but it’s still in the box. Not through any sense of hesitation it’s just I haven’t had a chance to sit down and properly set it up.
I’m also picking up the silicone case from O2 shop tomorrow.

My 17 PM has been sat at 'delivers 7th to 14th October' since I ordered it a few weeks ago, I've been regularly checking and there's never been any update from 'processing'.

I got a dispatch email from Apple this morning at 1am, and the phone is coming today. Nice surprise, and I'm glad I work from home as they didn't give me much notice. :) That said, I was due to be in London today with work but luckily that's not going ahead.

When I took my 17 pro to NFL London on the weekend, I unplugged with 100% charge at about 7.45am, 2hr drive up to London, lots of photos at the stadium, and spent most of the 2hr trip back watching NFL Redzone on the phone, finally slapped a battery on to give it a bit more juice when it hit 38% at 9.30pm.

Accidentally charged it up to 100% yesterday, unplugged at 6.45am, plugged it back in to charge at 9pm after a day's fairly light use with Strava tracking, bit of podcast listening, still 58% battery left.

Very happy with that.

Seems a solid phone & this generations '13 pro' - so should do me another 4 or 5 years I hope!

Just got my case & matte screen protector delivered so its all safe now, I'll use it today as normal & report back, my 13 pro's battery died, barely made it just past dinner time before going below 20% sadly.

My usual contact is ordering for me, so a decent discount. 17PM in orange. It’ll be up to a month but that’s fine, I’m in no hurry.

:mad::mad: I’ve managed to scratch the screen!!

Can’t believe it and I’m actually baffled. I haven’t dropped it and I don’t keep anything else in my pockets with it!

I’ve put a screen protector on and the scratch does disappear but I really dislike screen protectors as I catch the edge of it when swiping up at the bottom. Hence why I didn’t have one..

Has anyone found a really thin screen protector?

What ? It must have been something quartz level hard to scratch the screen. It’s got a hardness rating of 6-7

Ive seen that the orange colour seems to fade if exposed in the sun? Are people noticing anything

Nope, nothing at all. Even all the crap about it flaking and scratching is nonsense too - at least for me. My phone is basically never off of mag safes. Kitchen table, bedside table, workstations, car and truck. All different locations it it’s spotless. I rarely if ever even wipe the ones in the cars!
