At what point do you say GPU's are too expensive and refuse to buy?

The only reason that Nvidia is even entertaining gamers just now is that todays 13 year old gamer is tomorrows AI Network manager with business purchasing power. Get them hooked on Nvidia while young and you've got a future adult willing to use Nvidia in the workplace. Todays gaming cards are just a waste of silicon for Nvidia when it comes to cash. They just want to hook the next gen of future buyers, now.

If you check statistics, 13yo don't play games on PCs or consoles - often don't know you can nor would want to. Current young generation is all mobile. It's us older generations with monies that pump Nvidia really, so can't blame anyone else for the current pricing. :p

That entirely depends if you are looking at the gaming market as a whole or ‘proper gamers’ (PC, PlayStation, Xbox (lol) or Nintendo)

I remember buying a 980Ti and thinking that was expensive. At the time I was thinking the Titan X was ridiculous.

Recently though I keep spending more and more with each generation that releases.

I never thought I’d spend more than £2000 on a graphics card but I passed that limit with a 5090.

To be honest I think the founders edition 5090 price is a much easier pill to swallow and fairer price but it’s always out of stock when I check.

I don’t think I’ll spend more than £3000 on a graphics card so if the 6090’s are £3500 for a suprim, astral etc I think I’ll be out. Time will tell though….

I justify the expense as I have no other vices apart from electronics and gaming.

I used to spend thousands modifying cars, hybrid turbos, full exhausts, bigger intercoolers, APR engine and gearbox remaps etc and that was literally money thrown down the drain as I’d never get anything back for it. At least

As they say Speed Costs Money, how fast do you want to go. There are precious few inexpensive hobbies, even some you think might be cheap arent.

Yeah I just couldn't resist that deal for £627 9070XT Nitro+ OC. And yesterday I bought a 5070TI off WARburton on the MM here for £510  it's only money. And they both for Christmas so what the hey. I found it really hard to choose between the 5070TI and the Sapphire Nitro 9070XT they both for 2 different pcs. Now the tough part is which one goes in the 7800X3D pc and which goes in the 5800X3D pc. Time to sell my Sapphire Pulse on the MM now lol. It's been a great card though but I really was wanting that Nitro+ and now I got it. :)
