For the people who remember 3DFX

My first ever PC upgrade was a a Voodoo 1, I can't remember though if it were an Orchid Righteous or a Diamond Monster. What I do remember was being excited when I got it but soon got frustrated when I couldn't get it to work. When I did eventually sort out the driver's, the API extensions (who remembers Glide?) and finding some games and demos that were compatible I was blown away by the quality of the visuals.

I think those experiences even though frustrating can be valuable, I gained a lot of knowledge back then from troubleshooting stuff like that which has wider application.

I remember the half panic/excitement of forking out the cash for my 3DFX, I think it was an Orchid Righteous. I think I had a Voodoo 3 at one point as well but moved quickly on to a TNT2 Ultra.

I'm still hording 2x Voodoo 2 (in SLi) and a AGP Voodoo 5 5500 64mb which I paid next to nothing for a good few years ago when I was on a retro binge. I've just noticed the prices!
