——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

The beta was nothing like COD to me and i played it a silly amount.

I cant stand the newer COD games but really enjoy BF6 , wonder why.
Well obviously it's not like current COD which seems more like Titanfall or Mirrors Edge. But definitely more like COD than BF2, 3 and 4. Take the auto healing as one example, 5 seconds for auto feeling to kick in and then I think it's 20hp a second until full. You go from nearly dead to full health in about 10 seconds. BF4 was something like 16 seconds and then 5hp/s. Why even have medkits at this point?

The more I read this thread the less the urge to preorder becomes. Think I’ll wait for the reviews.

Call of duty is so desperate they announced the whole Black Ops 7 will be free to
Play during the Battlefield 6 launch
Where have they announced that? I thought they just extended it so it didn't end last night, instead it ends Thursday night?

Whilst I don't think COD is in a good spot right now, the BO7 beta was a lot better than expected, especially after they added the 'open playlist' with minimal SBMM. I had more fun playing that mode for 2 hours than I had playing any COD game in the last 3 years.

Textures were pretty average in the beta and the maps are pretty small.

6. Weapons like laser beams.
7. Support getting health and ammo.
8. Auto healing after 5 seconds.

There are other things and DICE claim to have made improvements but I'm not willing to spend £60 to find out it wasn't enough.
9. Forced crossplay

Steam refund policy will protect me on this one if I dont like it. I enjoyed beta but Im not sure Ill like it enough to have to reboot to windows just for a session.

I enjoyed this in the open beta, but it highlighted how old and slow I am. Great looking game, but I genuinely worry that I'll end up getting frustrated by the fact I can't shoot as straight as I used to - no smutty comments please :D

At 55 I was thinking the same thing but I've been playing a lot of cod the past year and I've been getting a decent k/d ratio so I'm hoping this will pass onto battlefield

Anyone else find the drama/hype kinda tiring and off-putting?
Seems to be way gaming is nowadays, I mean heck there's more then a few grifters out there who's made it there whole persona to complain about everything gaming related (probably same for movies, TV and books too)

Did you play Q2 back in the day? Competitively? You're of the right age. I used to play with a guy called Scoobs - it was good times.

I'm guessing that you will still be eligible for the pre order tombstone pack right up to actual unlock time Friday? I'm holding out to see if CD Keys goes in stock before then. :D

Not really, I imagine they are aiming at their new customer base being kids, gives them 30 minutes to get home from school and straight on the console.
I think it's more to cater for the American audience. If they released it at 9am in the morning here, it would be 1am Pacific Time. This way it's much more manageable for what is probably their biggest market.
