I have unrevolted by 95 mv and underpowered by 7% .card is only drawing 325 watts and still getting a nice 7562 in steel nomad. So am not to worried about melting or fire. Well i was'nt until you mentioned ityay double the risk , make sure you have fire suppression system
Looks like a reasonably sized case actually. Got a pic of how it looks?I have a lian li 011 and i quite like it . So would prefer not to!
Yeah that does look a little tight, would going down and under, instead of from the top make any difference? Good job the connection is recessed otherwise you'd have no chance!its a bit difficult to see with the tint and lights
I have tried all ways to route the cables and this is the the best i can get. As said i am only drawing 325 watts through it so i am going to try one of those adapters i listed. What i can say is when running a benchmark loop for one hour this connector does not feel hot in the slightest.Yeah that does look a little tight, would going down and under, instead of from the top make any difference? I'm staying strong. I have my savings pot on the go which is coming along nicely, so come Q2 '26 I'll have funds to hopefully use on the new UDNA range. If they are good. Which of course they will be. AMD would never let me down. The 6900XT has served me well but I am relying on frame gen and FSR more so, since moving to 4K.
In your position I'd be hanging on for a while. I can't imagine there's anything you need to drop to lowest and still can't hit acceptable frames. All depends on your tolerance and how much that cash is worth to you elsewhere of courseI’m still undecided, the 7800XT is doing just fine at 1440P. So very much hanging tight at the moment upon reflection.
I am leaning more towards waiting and doing a bigger upgrade all at once. Maybe a X3D CPU and GPU when the 9070XT is superseded.
At 1440P - 7600X & 7800XT is a winning combination currently, especially for the money (£150 CPU and £399 GPU) So I take some pleasure from that aspect![]()
I upgraded from a 3060TI and buying the 9070XT is one of the best upgrades in my PC building over the past 25 years….
Sold the 3060TI for £280, bought the 9070XT for £568
Upgrade cost £288

Yeah, considering you can get a 5060Ti for 330 right now, paying 280 for a 3060Ti is a wild decision.Nice upgrade just feel sorry for whoever paid £280 for a 3060Ti!
XFX AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Swift Graphics Card for Gaming - 16GBlol now thats a term I've not heard for some time
3060ti to 9070XT must have been hell of a jump for sub £300 though; given thats 5070ti-5080 performance range game dependent, 2 generations and a tier or two up equivalent.
Which 9070XT did you grab?![]()
I noticed some odd behaviour with LACT. I found that if I didn't hit "reset" before making changes they didn't seem to be applied. There have been a few patches to it on Cachy but I haven't had chance to retest. Not sure if it is a bug or a featureFor those on Linux, I recently loaded up LACT again after months. I was surprised to see the available upper power limit was reported higher than before and had a look around to find the reason:

We now have the 10% overdrive available. While it seems possible to set the limit higher than before, I didn't notice a difference and it still appears to be throttling around 340W. It's possibly my card, so I'd be interested in hearing if anyone else has experienced a difference.
my pure has the exact same thing with the vram when trying to oc itSo anyone who's spent a decent amount of time with these cards; is there any trick to a decent memory OC? My Nitro+ seems to have not been blessed by the VRAM gods, and regularly if I try to go over 2600 I just get a black screen on applying or boot (and generally the same with fast timings), not errors, ECC slowdown or instability, straight through to black screen, even if the core itself is left default.
As it stands, I'm running 2600 as that seems to be stable, but seeing how many people seem to be at 2.7 or even higher, I'm wondering if I've missed anything in terms of tuning, or if I just unfortunately got a bit of a lemon in terms of the VRAM. Temps seem decent, and core does reasonably on an undervolt, so I can't complain too much, but wasn't expecting to be so limited on the VRAM with a Nitro+![]()
Glad its not just me - and yes, Hynix.my pure has the exact same thing with the vram when trying to oc it
i run memtest vulkan to do this usually
and way way before i hit the ecc error that should result in lower throughput instead i just get the instantly black screen like you do
and weirdly at roughly the same frequency as well
but yeah exactly the same findings as you on that one and similar but different card [9070xt pure]
im still happy with the performance though overall just for some reason cant seem to do much with the vram lol
hk hynix on my card if that makes any difference im guessing yours has the same?
