Thanks for the offer that’s very kind of you but I’ve already bit the bullet and ordered a Bosch thingy for £40.Depending on where abouts in Kent you are I have a detector you can use if you’re not too far away.
As others have said though, being a plasterboard wall if there’s no sockets or radiators then you should be ok. I personally have in the past just pushed a screwdriver through either side and then use a rod to feed the cable through.
I’ll drill a small pilot hole and then poke about inside with a chopstick or something to see if I can feel anything.
Right before she left me….That's what your wife said![]()
If its a metal stud wall, probably a metal stud that lays horizontal.Right before she left me….
Getting back on topic i’ve just used the scanner thingy and it’s definitely picking up something all along the skirting which surprised me a bit. I know it’s guess work but is it likely to be picking up on a wall that has no sockets or radiators?
It says it’s clear everywhere above the skirting so I guess i’m good to go?
All along the skirting could be the pins/nails/screws used to hold the skirting in place.Right before she left me….

Exactly!Yolo, go for it!
Hole drilled and I was only electrocuted to death a little bit but the important thing is my surviving relatives now have an ethernet cable poking through a wall.
