What PC games are you playing?

I've got back into sim racing with Le Mans Ultimate. Very easy to get into multiplayer races with populated lobbies. Not a fan of the penalty system as it equally penalises the victim when getting rammed. I feel the system in GT7 works better.

Much like iRacing system then?

Installed bf5 last night, had 2 games and instantly uninstalled lol, not sure if i was just unlucky but both servers had hackers galore!! Hurry up the 10th.

Grim dawn
picked up in a sale for £3.
playing with an xbox controller, which can be a bit limiting, but enjoying the game so far.

Nuclear Option - had never hard of it but stumbled across it on Steam. Anyone tried it ? bought yesterday on Steam after watching some reviews/gameplay on youtube.

Early Access - £14.99 - near future flight simulator, and somewhere between an arcade sim and full sim.

Graphics are good (its only a few gb download), lots of missions, lots of aircraft to fly, mission editor, and weapons include Nukes

Started Still Wakes the Deep last night to do something other than MSFS for a bit - seems ok so far, not amazing but think I'll stick with it as it's a very short game.

Still smashing zombies' heads in in Dying Light The Beast.

I have no idea why anyone would want to play anything else TBH.

Started playing, sorry watching, Psychonauts 2. Cutscenes galore and it's doing my head in.

Play for 2 mins, 5 min cut scene, play for 2 mins, another 5 min cut scene. Is the whole game like this?

It's been a while since i played it but I'm pretty sure it is. It was an ok game overall but not as great as everyone said at the time.

Just started returnal, done a few loops and currently in the 2nd biome. Liking it so far.

The Mass Effect series. I played the original Mass Effect back in 2007 for about 30mins or however long it look me to decide the gun play was miles behind Halo, which I was hugely into at the time with Halo 3 having launched 2 months earlier. Since then I've seen ME appear on so many 'my favourite games of all time' or 'recommend me a game' lists I thought I'd give it another go and...

...I've got somewhat addicted. I've been playing the original versions rather than the remastered version, which I'm glad I did as I like seeing how the graphics evolved and what the original flaws were. I've been playing as an infiltrator, so pistols and snipers. Safe to say the snipers in ME1 weren't the greatest, with crazy amounts of sway for a gun class that's supposed to be accurate. Why didn't they reduce sway and also reduce damage if they were concerned about them being OP? I bumped into a bug that's never been ironed out where if you're using an AMD CPU on certain levels all characters turn into black pixelated blobs. Despite these negatives, i put about 24 hours into the campaign and loved it, so immediately moved onto ME2.

I can see why ME2 is often cited as the best in the series. Loads of quality of life improvements such as more auto save points, no long journey from the Normandy to the Citadel, less back tracking through levels to the Normandy when you've completed them and snipers that shoot straight! I liked the simple weapon upgrade system with no more milling hundreds of copies of identical weapons. Great storyline, some compelling characters, some interesting choices to make. Loved it, so having put 24 hours into that too (weird how close my completion time in ME1 and ME2 were) I've recently started ME3.

I'm only an hour or two into ME3 and maybe it's just because it's different, but I'm not quite 100% convinced yet. The storyline seems to jump substantially from where ME2 finished with not explanation as why. I'm not sure about the weapon / weight trade off system either, but like I say that might be just because it's new and different to ME2. Looking forward to it though, I'm really glad i went back to it and understand why it appeared on all those lists :)
