Fridge freezer packed in and need to order a replacement, noticed Liebherr which I’ve not heard off but they have something size wise and feature wise that fits our requirements.

Alternative is either a Bosch or AEG?

Just had our freezer die last weekend and spent a long time researching. Liebherr are the best from what I’ve read. Miele rebadge liebherr units. Got one from Marks Electrical, it comes with a 10 year warranty.

Whatever you do don’t buy a Haier, ours died after 4 years. Not even a ‘sorry’ from customer services. There really needs to be a crackdown on white goods manufacturers. <5 years for any white good in a domestic environment is unacceptable imo.

I've got separate fridge and upright freezer from Leibherr.
No issues to report. *shrugs*
Can't remember offhand when they were purchased, but I think it must be coming up to 10 years or so.
Have never needed to defrost the freezer.

Liebherr is A Swiss-German multinational with its headquarters in Bulle, Switzerland.

I have a Bosch fridge freezer, it wasn't that expensive, and it's been good. Still going strong after 12 years, doesn't need defrosting very often.

It’s arriving today so will see what the quality is like.

I think over the years Bosch has gradually got lower in terms of feel and quality.

Didn’t arrive till after 7pm so didn’t do much with it expect to unbox it and flip the doors over.

Switched on this morning and it does look like a nice bit of kit but compared to my old fridge/freezer everything does feel flimsier. So thinner baskets, thinner glass used for the shelving and less space when compared to my old unit which was only a millimetre or 2 smaller.

I think there is more padding/insulation to make it more energy efficient.

Still think it’s is a nice piece of kit just not as sturdy as our old unit.

Well timed thread. Our fridge-freezer (Bosch) just broke down after about 6-7 years. Currently looking at options as well, but not decided yet.

Quick update on this. Fridge/freezer is all fine except that we’ve had problem with the salad drawer getting wet. Tried a few things like making sure that nothing was touching the back and regularly cleaning out the drawer but nothing seemed to work so I contacted Liebherr.

They replied with check that the drain is clear, which was surprising given that it was new but I checked it and found nothing. I tried setting the fridge temp 1 degree higher but still the same issue.

So contacted then again and they suggested moving a tray directly under the salad drawer as that controls the amount of air that the drawer gets. Problem is that as you open and close the drawer it is really easy to push that tray back but I’m still testing to see if fixes the issue.

The old fridge was a John Lewis branded Zanussi which we never had any issues with so am sort of surprised that the veg and salad drawer ends up with sopping wet fruit and veg!

I got mine from a random neighbour. Was out on the road "free and working due to getting integrated one". All it cost was looking like a tramp as I struggled to get it in the Peugeot 207!

helped parents install one of their fridges at w/e

salad compartment does descend below front door level which was a first - I'll see if they have any salad issues, only oddity so far. V
(e: & shelves if you did inadvertently shift one forward an inch, they will drop through to lower level)

will probably get a min-max thermometer to use myself/share to give a heads up on any fridge/freezer issues

did see this thread https://www.avforums.com/threads/new-liebherr-fridge-icy-back-wall.2468143/

I don't think they are really talking about some newer technology exclusive to them ? my new world ff has a back wall that freezes&thaws, but hasn't had un-needed water.
parents were saying their new liebherr is colder than expected so had done some research
