Lenovo Legion Go

After running the xbox full screen experience for a few weeks I've moved back to Steam OS. While it's a good start by Microsoft it still feels a bit clunky and nowhere near as streamlined. While I'll miss having access to my Gamepass subscription I doubt I'll renew it when it expires in April now they have upped the price.

Is there anyway of finding out what games are and aren't suitable to run on the device? games that are optimized for the legion?

I am currently running it on windows and installed steam and epic games launcher, thus allowing me to install anything in my library have have installed some titles now that are not and wont run (display a warning about lack of min requirements)

Bit late on this but in essence you have a couple of things going on here. As you are running the Handheld with Windows you are effectively just running a (relatively) low powered PC. Thus performance will very much depend on whether the specs are above or below the minimum requirements for the game itself. This will either mean the game won't run or will run poorly / lower than expected settings / performance. Borderlands 4 for example will run but won't run well.

There is no real thing as "Optimised for Legion" per se, but the second thing (to the above) you can look for is whether then game is "Great on Deck" or has a green tick next to the Steam Deck verification in Steam. This will generally mean the game both launches and runs well at reasonable settings (factoring in the Steam Decks 800p screen res).

Generally speaking anything that runs well on the Deck will run even better on the Legion Go but the performance ceiling is still very much there.

So I've got the Legion Go 2 Z2E and it is phenomenal. An unreal device. Oled HDR with VRR is god tier. Been playing around with it today.

Performance FPS wise seems actually significantly higher than reviews would suggest. May be down to needing to do some out of box tinkering to get there. Eg. For some reason in the bios these shipped with only 2gb allocated to VRAM. I upped this to a safe 12gb. Something perhaps YouTube influencers don't realise, only seen one mention it.

Plus on handhelds you need to power down the CPU so more of the wattage goes to GPU, so windows / CPU profile for efficiency (with tweaks) goes a long way.

This thing stays cool and quiet! At 18w it beats out the Z1E at full blast, while battery life goes to 2.5-3hr mark, at 30w plugged in it is stretching it's legs.

Think I might cancel that Xbox rog ally x order now. Don't think it gets better than this until there's something more powerful and more efficient.

Where did you order it from? The only place I’ve seen is very and it’s now on pre order!

I've picked up a Legion Go S (Z2 Go) for £280 and been loving it so far.

Screen is great, Steam Deck screen feels such much smaller now.

It's not a Z2E so I know this isn't for AAA, but for some older / indie titles it's great.

I'm enjoying mine as well, got it for the same price, I got 4 screen for about £5 and a clear plastic case\cover for about £4 from ali express that work well. It took 2 screens protectors before I got it on correctly.

Mine came with a case, grip and screen protector already.

I am having issues with the weight/ergonomics. Might just be my hands but find myself having to move my hands a lot to get a good grip!

Any recommended egpu for these?

There are a bunch on the Reddit for the Legion Go which people recommend depending on budget and needs though might take a bit of digging to find the threads. Personally I'd say avoid the Razer ones as they take quite a bit of messing about to get them stable. Be aware the useable PCI-e bandwidth over USB4/TB is only ~2.5GB/s (~20Gbit/s), you might get slightly higher on some devices, so you lose around 20% performance compared to the same GPU in a desktop or more if a game or application hits the bus harder than average.

Mines still going great too. It can still play some AAA games impressively well. I'm playing through RDR2 at the moment
