——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Thought the graphics looked at little off, something around the edge but couldn't quite figure out what it was. Now I realise that Chromatic Aberration is on by default, turned that and Film Grain off and everything looks that little sharper.

Just tried this, stock:
BF6_Stock.jpg

CPU fix (12700KF so 12, 12 then 20 for me):
BF6_UserCFG.jpg

So a 26% drop in CPU utilisation and with that a ~20W drop in CPU power draw. the 5fps gain could be run variance as on a different server the 2nd time round but still, seems decent given basically no change in performance but the CPU is running lighter and 5 degrees cooler.

Check your task manage CPU tab to be sure if you're not sure of your core numbers.

Wonder what/if any impact on 1% lows...

I know the core numbers, just not how it should translate to that config file.
8 p cores no ht
12 e cores no ht
20 total cores
So 20 20 20 Which doesn't sound like anything the game wouldn't already know. Saw some guy saying 20 20 7 which looks weird but he seemed confident.

That is Overkill 4K DLSS Perf with no frame gen.

You could try it and see what you get I guess?

Yeah I'd seen those comments, I was just whinging. As others have said, maps are smaller and there seems to be more players crammed into them. Plus there's a lot happening on screen and I have difficulty sorting it all out so probably not reacting as quickly, even if I try and be a little stealthy some buggers usually camping or already spotted me and takes me out.
There doesn't seem to be a frontline on any of these maps - constantly attacked from all angles, so many ways to pass through the level.

In BF4 you generally felt the you knew where you had to look (especilally on locker or Metro) and you could take a breath near the front- it makes the levels very intense.

Intel users obsess over FPS tweaks
AMD uses just play the game :)

Not an fps tweak though, more a power/temps tweak if anything given I have shown there's no real change in fps but a nice drop in heat

After playing MP for the first time tonight on Conquest I actually think the Challenges are detrimental to playing the game as players focus on their own unlocks from completing the Challenges rather than, especially on Conquest, PTFO. Nothing worse than a mechanism designed to be additive that actual detracts from the experience.

Overall seems manic at times and I hope larger maps do come as they just don't feel BIG, but as I said a long time ago they'll have to keep things smaller due to the overheads in terms of CPU usage etc for the destruction. It's a trade off, smaller maps to allow for the destruction.

I just like shooty shooty guns and if something unlocks along the way then cool. It's more of a laugh mooching about shooting people and getting shot then shooting the person that shot you as revenge. Same as BF of old which got lost along the way in later versions..

I'm having a lot of fun with it. It runs well and it's fun to shut your brain off for an hour or two and just play a simple objective game. It didn't need to reinvent the wheel, just more of BF3/4 (I wouldn't have minded the base building from BFV) and less of 2042.

It has scratched that itch for me which is impressive in its own right. I was 21 when BF3 came out and in an entirely different place in my life. No matter what DICE cooked up, they'd never be able to recreate that feeling I had then when i could dedicate hours of my life to a game.

Now, solidly, into my mid-thirties and with all the life that goes along with that. I think they've released a pretty competent game and I'm glad I've got it and I've had a lot of real fun moments on it. I wont be able to play it for 4+ hour sittings each night and that will keep it feeling fresh and fun for me.

I had got into a squad tonight that seemed to work really well together. As always your BF experience can be heavily dictated by who you're teamed up with but when it's good, it's still very good.

I had the same issue in the beta and on my first few games today, a combination of disabling the below has definitely helped it feel a bit more snappy:

1. Frame gen (I know this adds some input lag).
2. Uniform soldier aiming - counterintuitive as have always used this in BF titles, but feels better 'off' in BF6 to me.

Also make sure you disable all the motion/ camera shake settings etc.

Yeah in a game like this unless you have around 70+ FPS before frame gen 2x or over 100 with 3x aiming will feel meh.

yup so many times ive started unloading half a clip on a assault rifle into some one and they seem to turn around and get me in a hit or 2......

any one got any idea what process is still running after the game crashes with no error messages? fed up rebooting to be able to launch the game again when it does crash. if i could just go task manager and kill the process win instead of rebooting.

I really hate it - in BF4 I'm usually like 1-3ms offset from the server, no packet loss to speak of, etc., yet most of the time the game runs like I'm 1 second behind most other players but now and again it will do the opposite and act like I'm 1 second ahead of everyone and then I rack up the kills like there is no tomorrow and get all kinds of cheating accusations - usually doesn't last long though.
