Rot in hell- Ian Watkins is murdered.

I don’t understand how people can’t grasp that nothingness might be preferable to a life of misery. If the only prospect for the future is 30 years in prison, that might well tip some people over the edge into just thinking they’d rather be dead instead.

I mean… suicide exists. We know that, yeah?

You have to be quite badly depressed to not value your own life and consciousness.

I don't doubt for some it may be preferable to die, that doesn't mean you're doing them a favour by allowing it.

Oh sure, yeah. If Watkins wanted to die, he’d have probably been able to sort that out for himself. And in any case, prisoners shouldn’t be killing each other. We can’t get round having abolished the death penalty by outsourcing it to incarcerated criminals.

living a 90s teenagers dream with your xbox, designer shoes, tv etc

would being locked in a 90s bedroom really be prison? you may even get to have relations with your babysitters

must be a living hell...

Ps, this forum automatically changes the word g ravity to mavity. Why?
What the heck is g ravity? And why would you want to change mavity to that O.o

This discussion forum canonically exists in the Doctor Who universe, and years ago in the Doctor Who TV show the word got changed due to meddling in the timeline so that word is always used in the shows dialogue now.

Yeah sex offenders get rule 43’d to a separate wing with other like minded nonces.

Kept pretty much as segregated as possible and officers cannot be forced to work on that wing, I was invited but very impolitely declined the request.

I feel sorry for the officer who’s about to get blamed for this, I’ve been in a similar situation and it’s not a fun experience, coroners court was especially interesting.
...plus A wing guests get to enjoy added extras to their food, such as B wing cooks' excrement/phlegm, razor blades, broken shards from vape caps, bleach, etc...
(HMP Winchester was certainly eye-opening)

Yeah the kitchens was one of only x3 places along with visits and the HC wing where they would be escorted but allowed to be non-segregated in my Prisons.

All fun and games until everyone clocks them and chaos ensues.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I see that 2 people have been charged with his murder: BBC link.

From a quick Google it seems that one of them randomly stabbed and killed someone for no apparent reason (BBC), and the other one is one for violent r*pe and kidnapping (BBC link).

Morally, it's difficult to feel anything but complete apathy for it all, really.

I just searched up the two alleged attackers.

One stabbed an innocent man to death in a case of mistaken identity.

The other was doing 24 years for kidnapping and rape.

Still crazy to me that I used to be a big fan of this band.

Agreed, I have some (what should be) "great" teenage memories associated with their music, including seeing them at Glastonbury, which are very much tainted...

I don't think you appreciate the mavity of no longer existing, no longer having a consciousness, for ever more.

No matter the pain or torture you're enduring, you're alive, you exist, you have a consciousness. Losing that is losing everything, nothing worse.

You clearly have no concept of the kind of suffering some people live in. We're all going to die at some point, what is the sense in delaying the inevitable purely to perpetuate pain and unhappiness?

I remember reading a similar thing regarding a man that tried to kill Ian Huntley who to my surprise is still alive. He threw a bucket of boiling hot water over him. He was in prison for killing his girlfriend, luring her twin sister to his house and killing her then killing an elderly couple in their home.

Where's all the people scream human rights human rights? Ah yes, still all in speakers corner.
whilst i will shed no tears i will be one of those voices if you want.
Regardless of if you think we should have it or not, we do not have the death penalty..... prison should be hard, and not something anyone would want to experience........ but at the same time... even for the most brutal crimes it should be safe.

The moment it becomes acceptable to turn a blind eye if someone is murdered - just because the victim was a piece of human filth - then as a society we have gone down a really dark path imo.

Huh? You ok dan?
Fine thanks.

I was just pointing out that when someone advocates evil scum criminals getting killed because they serve no purpose to, and are just a drain on, society, that there is uproar because its against their human rights and life is sacrocanct.

Yet when an evil scum criminal actually gets killed the overriding view is good riddance.

Interesting isn't it.

Is there?

There is usually a discussion around the death penalty, sure, but that is due to it being a punishment met out by the state which is totally a different talking point to someone being murdered by another violent criminal.

I do find that interesting yes, wrt people have their posts deleted for expressing views on certain people should be killed (or they wouldn't shed a tear if it happened etc) but here we have a whole thread about it that seems fine.

It's either an ok thing to express or not, if we are saying it's ok because this guy was a terrible monster then all we're are doing is arguing where the line of acceptability is rather than it's something that's wrong on principle.
