About This Game

(Re)-Discover the dark whimsical tale of Little Nightmares, now enhanced in stunning 4K and 60 FPS.

Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition lets you choose between Quality or Performance Mode to favor either the visuals or the framerate depending on your preferences.

Enjoy improved visual effects, including RTX reflections, water effects, more particles, and volumetric lighting.

Additional helpers have been added for an overall better experience.

The Little Nightmares series has been captivating millions of players worldwide since 2017. Now it’s your turn to try to survive the first entry in the most charming horror series ever made.

Take on the role of Six, a lone child lost in a massive metal vessel known as the Maw, surrounded by dangerous, distorted versions of adults. You’ll need to do your best to escape in one piece or your fate will be worse than you ever dared dream.

OBSERVE YOUR SURROUNDINGS

You wake up in a damp, dark room. Your sole possession is a brass lighter. You have no memory of how you got here, but it’s clear that you are in danger. Only your keen eyes and quick wits can get you out in one piece.

FIND AN ESCAPE ROUTE

This world is not meant for children, but you can use your stature as an advantage with a bit of imagination. Climb drawers and shelves to find child-sized passageways through The Maw too tiny for the adults to reach and you’ll be safe… at least for a while.

AVOID THE RESIDENTS

The inhabitants of the Maw have only one use for children, and it’s never pretty. Children who don’t want to get caught should stay hidden and move carefully when they’re around. Under certain circumstances, a distraction might avert their attention long enough for you to scuttle away scot-free. Be careful, if you accidentally make too much noise, the Residents are quite determined once you’ve caught their eye.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

Sometimes, there’s no other choice but to run. If you can stay alive long enough to get somewhere the Residents can’t reach you, you might survive.

Can you make it through the Maw to freedom? Six is counting on you. Good luck, little one.

Game saves cannot be transferred from Little Nightmares (the base version) to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition (and vice versa).

It would be interesting to see what buying this...

Either through Steam or via a third party key seller would get you.?

My LN has not changed or been supplemented with the EE version of LN.
Those who had the LN were to get a free copy of the EE version on the launch of LN III.

I did get my LN for free in May 2021.

I've been given the Enhanced version for free. Can't recall if I bought the original in a sale on Steam or via key site.

Completed it earlier found it way more fun to play than LN3!

Did not like the following though:

1: Forced feedback - no option to disable that at all you have to do it via the ini files!
2: When you complete it your forced to watch a massive end credits crawl to see the final cutscene no apparent way to skip it at all takes ages (even if you speed it up by holding down the gamepad directional controls) but you have to watch it all to get the game to save to give you some new game options....so many people worked on the 2025 RT version its mind boggling they do not wish to sell it for now as a standalone!

I seem to have it in my library but havent bought LN3 yet, so if you bought LN1 you must get the upgrade for free too.

Reanimal demo came out today too and I played it, similar kind of game, same team or something? have not checked... the demo anyway runs poorly as you would expect since it is UE5. traversal stutter, shader stutter, sub 80fps average on ultra on a 4090, and maxing out a 4090 at all times even when there is no sign of GPU demanding action in such a style of game.

Fancy trying out LN EE though....

LN1 EE is UE4 not UE5 the UE4 logo comes up before it reaches the main menu its very well optimised.

According to the makers.....

....so it was supposed to be a free offer for all those who owned the game to get the EE. They were to get that on the launch of LN III.
However, there are a number of people who have posted over at Steam or Discord who have not received it, some got the game for free whilst others bought it.
A number who got theirs for free claim to have got the EE copy and others who have paid say the same. It seems fairly mixed.

I bought the expansion Maw pack, to add all the DLC's and yet it told me I needed to own the base game first, which I have done since 2021.

The original LN now has the artwork and notes the Enhanced Edition. When I download it though it is the base original game.

A bit of a mess.

Reanimal is created by the original team that made Little Nightmares. LN3 is a different team.

Do you use a pad or are able to use the Quest controllers when playing..? Assuming you have a Quest :)
Yes, i have a quest. As it only puts your head in the world I played with a pad, but I can't see why you couldn't use quest controllers as the pad.
I changed a couple of settings to bring the play area closer (otherwise it is easy to turn your head and see the next area) and scale to my liking, but other than that it doesn't need any tweaking or custom profiles

Its a total mess as many people did not get it but should have yet people have got it for no reason......Namco really messed up here

Someone over at Steam sent an email to Bandai and was told that the only people eligible for the EE version are those who pre ordered LN III.

Makes sense why now then...LN1 EE is actually more fun to play than LN3 LOL I completed LN1 EE...not played LN3 for days now its a bit of a chore!

No wonder they are not selling it as a standalone (think it would sell quite well actually it looks like a 2025 game despite only using UE4).

I do not know what that are trying to sell though with LN.. ?
If you check it out on Steam, as mentioned previously, it will show the enhanced edition artwork etc, but at this point for me,, download the std 2017 game.

LN3 seems quite poor by comparison, especially for it's cost.

LN3 is more modern but not much of it quite expensive I guess that's why they throw the LN1 EE copy at your account!

It seems to be quite short, shorter than the others from what I have read.
Someone mentioned over at steam that you would need to have the EE before you can buy the expansion pack for the DLC's of the first game. Probably why it would not work for me.

I'm pleased at how well it seems the EE edition runs at 4k with all RT settings on Ultra.
