Do you find the pedals work okay without a heel rest? I'd read on Reddit about the pedals being tall and somebody struggling to press them (Not sure what size feet they had :D ).

yes you will unless you race in clown shoes  seriously though you will need a heel rest, i already had a Simforge Base Plate, as adjustable

I've got size 12 feet and I would recommend getting the heelrest. its only a few quid more if you order it with the pedals.
if you decide you want it later then it will be more expensive as you'll have to pay shipping on it.
Do you have the base plate? As you say it's only £60 I'm not worried about the cost, it's the usability. Looking online the pedals are bolted down on to the plate with cap head bolts and nuts. The nuts are under the plate, I'm unsure how this will mount to my GT Omega Prime rig.

I've been thinking about ordering these, did you order direct from Simsonn, any import fees, etc?

I was going to order the two pedal silver set because I'm clumsy and would have no paint left after install :D
I ended up going through Amazon as someone had pointed out here. Took around 1 week to arrive as I think it still came from China.

it have to be now as new seat needed, just cant make up my mind between 3, certainly not be using upshift again

What seats are you looking at? I've got a GT Omega XL RS V2. it's okay, comfy enough, but there is flex in the seat back, think I'll buy a car seat next time, now that I know what I'm mounting to.

I had them with the baseplate yes, you would have to bolt the pedals to the plate then use t nuts and bolts to secure the baseplate to your rig, you might need some spacers under the pedal plate.

It's the heel rest that you need more than the plate, but I don't know how you would mount the heelplate to anything if you didn't get the base plate.

I have a Si Turnbull rig so although its very similar to yours the pedal frame extrusions are 40x40 not 80 x 40

Got some test drives last night. Went with the red default elastomers and set the Simsonns to 45kg in the app. Jesus Christ, I couldn’t achieve 90% in game consistently and was more like 50% which wasn’t helping. Couldn’t take corners anymore

Have I set it up wrong or does it take a while to get used to load cells at first?

It does just take a while to get used to load cells. Chances are you'll be slower at first because you likely don't have the muscle memory in your left leg even if you're used to driving a car on the road. Nothing wrong with starting off with a lower force and working up. I'd just do each step up fairly quickly so you don't get too used to the lower forces. It does help with stamina over longer stints if you don't skip leg day at the gym once you start getting up past 100kg of braking force.

Do you wear shoes out of interest? My load cell is around 90kg and I run it at max
