NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Yer a got a no frills c1500 relatively cheap for £230, as I was thinking about a 5090 and my then psu was over a decade old.

Obv the 5090 didnt happen, I suspect ill be waiting for the next gen and holding on to my 3090 until then
Nice!
Yeah I'm very happy with my C1200 ATX3.1, for £160 it's great, and completely silent! In a way it worked out better having the SF750 fail, as I was able to change it for the C1200 (after over half an hour of arguing with a competitor's RMA department)
Fair enough dude, at least you're set for the future, which was my thinking also with the C1200 :)

Haha, mild OCD. MSI GPU....MSI PSU....just seems right
Ha, I like that kind of OCD, makes for a sweet combo, so I get it :)
If that PSU so much as looks at you the wrong way though, you're jumping ship to team NZXT :P Deallll ;)

I'm still trying to run with my 3080 but trying to do some sofa gaming on the 4K TV is getting more difficult!
Get a more comfortable sofa :D

I’m kind of tempted to upgrade to a 5090 from my 4090 and I can get 15% off a Gigabyte Windforce model, so it’ll cost £1775. The price is good with my discount but is this version of the 5090 good?

Are all 5090s generally the same or are some
Models best avoided? Thanks. :)

100% bite at that price, main difference is fan speeds + temps between the "premium" and non premium choices.

I'd assume the windforce should be decent (with no experience of having one)

and at that price I'd be happier getting that than a palit (which I have owned) as an example.

None are bad, just noisier/hotter if you're sensitive to such things.

Do it !

Windforce 5090 is a good card but most 5090's are kind of the same, I just got one I liked the look of.

Thanks. Its so much money to spend on a graphics cadd but once I sell the 4090 it will be a £700-£800 upgrade (still crazy)

I am a little concerned about the power connecter though. I upgraded my power supply to a Thermaltake 1200w atx 3.0 one and have used the single power cable with it and have had no issues with the 4090. I should still be ok right

Good airflow, undervolting and/or adding a temp sensor on the gpu side connector can reduce the risk (worry) by lowering the amps drawn and monitoring the connection temp, keeping it under 60, defo 70.
There will be monitoring devices/connection out soon from Alphacool and Thermal Grizzly that will load balance the amps on the connector which will help a lot.
Still cheaper than an extra £800 for an Astral.
