What "man jobs" have you done today?

Ripped out old built in fridge along with the surround and swapped it with my previous fridge from my last place in the garage. Was just too small who makes a fridge where 4 pints of milk can't stand up straight in the door without crushing the bottle and forcing the door shut!!

Its time to start preparing for the winter, so swimming pool coming down and packed away, covers on the motorhome, garden furniture, etc. Dont like this time of year, but do like having open fires and using the firepit, so chopping loads of wood that has been drying over the summer.

Got 2 more ceiling joists into the loft, had a small skip delivered and ordered some 25mm insulation for delivery.

Busy weekend:

- Spray painted over some scuffs on one of the radiators (after picking up some Radiator paint from Lidl)
- Chopped up a load of tree branches the neighbour had trimmed and took them to the tip
- Cleared veg boxes and covered with cardboard for Winter
- Changed the battery on the Mini Countryman
- Laid some landscaping bark between my Shrubs, as got bored of weeding between them

The side trims finally turned up so got the cladding finished.

Got a few pieces of top trim to do but ither than that, externally finished!
Do you not need building regs approval for this as you're building onto your house? And also onto the boundary wall with neighbour? Id have thought, if so that a more typical foundation is required.

Looks good though, although only concern is the guttering will overhang the neighbours boundary?

No, I intentionally inset it by a foot so that it won't overhang the boundary. You just can't really tell because of the bins. Plan will be to build a bin store next to hide them away.

I am working with a building inspector on it for regs, and have, today, had the electrics certified.

Was the inspector alright with the cast in situ threaded rod fixings as a base? Interesting!

Looks good anyways matey

Planning the winteristation.. got to winterise the pond - UVC etc at some point but not at the moment, final lawn mow and put some moss killer down (it's come back after the grass was killed off in summer draught). Need to sort a conservatory window leak.. etc.

Got a spare planter from my dad (made from pallets) - got it all lined, filled and planted with a mix of garlic and red onion to over-winter... Managed to get 6 garlic up the middle and 4 red onion up each side (8 total) with the onions planted staggered to the garlic (if that makes sense?)

South facing garden so will get plenty of light and heat come Spring.

EDIT: I should add - the white "stones" in the compost is not the rough cast that has fell off the wall, its vermiculite mixed into the compost for drainage
