Enjoying so far, looks great and the audio is decent too which is important in these types of games. Only done a few raids, extracted each time and a couple of raider kills so far. Stayed away from the very high activity areas for now.

Pick up items you need for any quest you're currently on and then useful items for crafting, picking up everything isnt really feasible, also dont forget that many things can be recycled down into lesser components as you go so that you can carry more, such as recycling stuff into fabric, metal parts, plastics etc and if you happen across something good, dont hang around, extract asap

Edit : If you need money, go on a trinket run where you just collect trinkets, some things, like pictures, necklaces, even ice cream scoopers, sell for a lot of money

Absolute trash game. You’ve higher level/spec players camping out against level 1 players from the off. Takes a week to reload. You end up using all your ammo trying to take down said higher level players shields down or shooting drones and you die. Rinse and repeat. Same old boring crafting that's in other games

It’s a crap game on the free weekend let alone blowing money on this rubbish.

game is limited to a bout 5% of the content available people aren't running around with higher spec gear

and its not a free weekend.. its a server test for the release in 2 weeks time.. the devs are actually gamers and probably understand how important a smooth launch is needed as the game is gonna very very popular!

Literally just came out of a game where me and a friend were shooting someone point blank and we couldn’t even take his shield down. 5% is obviously geared above what we were (new players) regardless considering the amount of stuff in the game.

Cant say that I've experienced that and I've been playing for 6 hours and certainly not experienced it so much that its "a thing", either I've been amazingly lucky or you've been amazingly unlucky to keep encountering that.

Maybe it’s the sever I’ve no idea. We went in four times 4th time was with a random as well in a squad of 3 and we were getting shot by people from a huge distance away not a thing we could do as we were all new players at level 1 and me and a friend were on out last lot of ammo not that it mattered due to the distance we were being shot at. Checking out ‘recents’ we’d come across loads of other human players. Like I said they’re literally camping any zones we came across.

I have no explanation I'm afraid, I havent encountered anything like that in the 6 hours I've been playing, nor did I in the entire time I played during the betas. I dont even know how they are shooting you from a huge distance away given how very rare scopes are. I'd just chalk it down as a not for you game, at least you found that out before paying any money for it though. I'm enjoying it immensely, wish we had all the maps from the beta as well but I can forgive that as its just a stress test

I wasn’t going past this free weekend anyway tbh. I only downloaded it as a mate was bothering me all day to get it. I’m not interested in crafting rubbish nowadays so knew this wasn’t for me but getting attacked by other players and not being able to do anything about it from the off takes the ••••. This was is a squad of 2 to 3 players. My ‘recent’ player encounters were loads of people.

As I say, beats me, have you broken any mirrors lately? Doesnt resemble any of my 6 hours today in the slightest, maybe avoid walking under ladders and stepping on the cracks in the pavement for a while

I've played solo for a few hours and haven't been killed yet. Been quite careful and have killed several other raiders. Maybe being in a squad elevates the opponents you're going against?

You started (6hrs ago) maybe before the numptys decided to start camping areas no idea or I just got unlucky with the server who knows not that I’ll lose sleep over the game.

I’ve literally no idea mate. Went in the game with a mate both of us never having played the game before. Moved to a low game area (yellow) and instantly encountered a group of 3 players. I thought they were AI as I know zero about the game. We shoot one bloke loads of times I don’t believe we even get through his shield down my mate goes down then I do a bit after. Similair things happened on the other times with the last time 3 of us having a random join the team for his first game and we were getting shot from a distance away by a group again.

One tip is dont go to a yellow area until you've geared up a bit, as I mentioned earlier go to the non coloured areas first and collect gear and extract and dont start by going in with your gear, do free loadout runs at first so that you arent losing gear, do that for a while to build up a good stock of supplies and gear and to level up

Cheers for the tip though I’ve uninstalled it now I met people at a bridge before I was even in a yellow zone at one point I’m sure.
