Arc Raiders

I'm surprised with your luck that they didnt shoot you in the back :p
It’s nothing to do with luck when the game is built around multiple people/groups of people being placed on the same map whether they’re higher experience/level as people literally having their first game.

You were solo 6hrs before me I played at peak time in a group and came across loads of other players.

As I say, I have no explanation for what you encountered. My other half started an hour ago and also isnt running across loads of players, I have no idea why you were, its a mystery, I would have to see footage of you playing to get an idea as to what me and my other half are doing differently to you that neither of us is running into loads of other players, so in lieu of that I put it down to luck

I've had about 3 - 4 instances when I've used open mic to extract together with other solos.

Did a resource run this morning. Restocked on shield chargers. Got a blueprint for a magnum type pistol that I need to make.

The AI difficulty reminds me of Halo Elites. They call their buddies and hunt you down. Unrelenting, and often I'll use them to kill other players. I've seen just as many players die to ARC bots than players.

I can see you can unlock/buy noise devices....

Reading some of the comments in this thread - is this the first time people are playing extraction shooters ... come on lads.... :-p

Noise devices are great, so are the Raider Flares if you find any of them, they send up a "fake" death flare. I've used that on more than 1 occassion to trick someone into thinking they've killed me and then lie in wait to ambush them when they come over to loot my "body" :D

Didn't plan on trying this but actually quite enjoying it. Not sure what I'm doing and just got killed by a random. I like the atmosphere of the game.

Good numbers for what is a niche genre. 200k concurrent for an extraction shooter is very decent. Caveat being that its "free" this weekend, the numbers at release will be more revealing, though I still expect it to be the no.1 extraction shooter.

I can see they've implemented the best bits from other extraction shooters:

Exfil - they've inserted the "free loadout" scav mode equivalent. They've also developed the home base developing gameplay loop and the crafting mechanism.

Hunt - they've nailed the atmosphere. Arc has the day/night cycle , weather effects and pve mobs.

In addition, they've added the character skills tree and rpg element. I'm yet to understand the content they've locked. The extractions are hot because teams have to battle the bots often guarding the area as well as players.

I think its great they've made the AI tough. Changes the dynamics. From what I gather there's a fair few maps at launch.

I missed the test sessions earlier in the year. Easy buy for me.

12 maps at launch, which is considerably more than most games in the genre launch with. I played some of the other maps in previous test phases and found all of them to be better than the current one, which is good anyway. I especially liked the map with the big tower in the middle, kind of reminded me of that CoD:Warzone map which has the air traffic control tower on it that people try to get to the top of.

I do miss having the placeable zip line in the stress test though, was really useful in earlier tests :D

I've picked up the zip line a few times, haven't used it yet though.

Does each map offers different loot tables? 12 maps is pretty impressive. Extraction shooters numbers tend to settle after the first 3 months, so I can only assume they will plan to rotate the order.

There are some shared loot tables and some items which are only found on certain maps, the maps, whilst part of the same overall world theme, feel quite different too. The night runs are awesome as well and really add an additional stress to moving around and extracting :)

also puzzles to solve on certain maps like the harvester event on the current server slam map.. but good luck trying to do with the current available gear :D the queen will wreck you!

I played earlier solo. I came across a guy fighting some drones, so I snuck up and waited to strike. Once he'd finished the drones off and was hiding behind a rock licking his wounds I pounced! I shot him from virtually point blank range, emptying my whole magazine into him, not missing a single shot. He absorbed all damage and shot me about 3 times then I died. I guess I was using a pea shooter or something.

That experience kinda deflated me to be honest lol.

Looks like he had a good shield and higher spec gun. It’s definitely a frustrating part to the game for sure, especially for solo players.

What gun were you using?

Tried it with a mate last night and we got absolutely obliterated by her. I don't think a 3 man squad could do it tbh, you'll need other raiders to actually group up cos she just obliterates you.
