Football Manager 26

Theres been a little bit of a negative reaction to the new UI changes with the early builds people have got their hands on.
I feel like that was inevitable, it will probably take some time of people playing and feeding back to get it right.

My fear is that very little will have happened with the game play, especially in long term saves re finances, reputation, AI squad-building etc given all of the other challenges they'll have been facing.

But I suspect in any case I'll get a decent number of hours out of it, and hopefully it will give them a stronger platform for 27, 28 etc.

Yeah they've done a deal with Fifa too, so the world cup is all official.

I just hope you aren't forced to pick women when you set up the database.
World Cup looks like it will be coming as an update, I'm guessing next year leading up to the tournament. I wonder if they will be able to resist not charging for it.

Watched the "live" stream just now, comments decidedly mixed. They played all matches at triple speed, looked awful to be honest.

edit: the live stream was just them playing this youtube video now I've had a look at the vid. Also watched WorkTheSpace interview Miles Jacobson on his channel, unfortunately it turned into a bit of a PR show to damp down expectations on MJ part. You could tell WTS felt he should back off asking any pertinent questions as MJ was getting emotional half the time. I mean it will eventually get there but will be a couple of years at least I think. He did confirm however that all "content updates", as they call them, including the World Cup mode would be free post launch.

I fully expect this to be a buggy mess with a great game underneath it all, will be much better after a few hot fixes and patches, then they'll release FM27 in a much better state but will break one of the best things about FM26! (I'll still spend far more hours than is healthy on both though!)

Never really managed to get into a FM game, but for some reason i'm tempted to give this a try!
I do hope this might make it more appealing to new players. The old design was always off-putting to some players, both through the complexity of the menus and the graphics, so if they get this (and potentially the sequel) right, it could open it up to a much wider playerbase.
