Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 20th October 2025]

The two main issues are did they really need Isak (given the huge cost) when Ekitike looked so good, and Wirtz is a number 10 and they are generally viewed more as luxury players these days.

Wirtz is a luxury number 10. There are plenty of 10s that aren’t that style of player but he’s currently not built for the PL.

I’m not buying this arquement of our form is down to Trent at all it’s ******** (he is doing poor in Madrid by all accounts)

Yes he created allot for us. If Trent was here it’s not to say Salahs form wouldn’t be same.

We lost Diaz pace and directness as well which people forget.

Konate dog crap this season, Trent wouldn’t change that.

Slots team set up isn’t down to Trent either and allot of the issue atm is Slots choices right now for me.

It’s not solely down to that obviously, it’s certainly a worth noting though as it’s completely changes the attack and keep the defences guessing.

Trent was a massive relief at the back with the ball, Konate is the opposite

Also a big shoutout to Lammens, that's the most difficult place to play, against multiple world class attackers, and he never once looked phased by any of it. Fingers crossed it continues.

Watch us get battered by Brighton next week now…

We may well do, Brighton are a good side. The important thing is to keep playing well.

Care to be more specific? Genuinely, I'm not being flippant, but you've just named two pretty generic things that happen in football matches

Sry for late reply. Got 6 months old baby that needed attention.

Can't remember who it was but in the first half the ball went of play and a Liverpool play took a shot when he got the ball. Would have been harsh but everyone around stopped playing after the whistle so there was no need for it.

2nd one was Szoboszlai waving his hand at the referee asking for a card.

"Good" interview from VVD.

Re Salah.

It's one of those situations that he could walk into any team. He barely had a sniff today.

Seems to be happening a lot.

Difficult question, as Liverpool have some firepower.

Is he detracting from the team now? Could his place be better used with another player under the new manager?

Odd one as, as said, most teams would love a striker on that level.

There’s reaching and then there’s this.

Scenes!

Amazing result considering the ref did his best to try to stop us from winning.
Sorry, did he?

You got given a goal during a head injury, and we didn't get a penalty for an arguable handball.

Don't get me wrong, I think both were decisions I agree with. But most games get stopped in similar situations with head injuries, and maybe 30% of the time the Amad one is given as handball.

Salah isn’t the only issue here, Salah was bad beyond belief this game and has been poor all season.

I expected him to slow down but not drop off like this his basics aren’t even close to good enough atm.

The issue is Slots isn’t managing it right imo, could have dropped him multiple times over and others.
