Has anyone been successful with Wimbledon ballot tickets for next year?

I did, bought them and feel a bit blind as I can’t see any community online to talk to people about it

I've not (yet) been successful - I think they release them on a staggered basis.

But I've been most years since I was about 5, so if you have any questions about it more generally let me know.

Thanks mate as I’m a bit overwhelmed

I hurriedly bought what I was offered last night (2 tickets for centre court block 511 for the first day)

And am now confused as to whether I could have tried to get a “better “ seat, or whether I could have refused and gone into another sort of ballot/returns process I’ve e heard about

Also confused how you manage to go each year as I thought the ballot was quite difficult to win?

Any help I’d be grateful on. Hope I don’t sound ungrateful for my ticket I am absolutely buzzing!!!

If you decline your tickets they go to someone else who was unsuccessful in the ballot and you're locked out of the ballot for the year, you can't swap them. You'd have to go and queue up on the day you wanted and hope you get some.

You didn't need to hurry by the way, I think you get 48 hours to decide if you want them :D

I attended my first last year, my partner was successful and we enjoyed Court One opening day last year...although it was ridiculously hot.

She's been successful again but it's for Court Two Day Three - currently weighing up whether we want to go for them or not. I've not been successful, yet! Hoping something drops through for One or Centre!

Take the tickets, it's a fantastic experience regardless of where you are on Centre Court. The first day is also great - there will be so many good matches on the "outside" courts, which anyone can walk into with any ticket, that you'll probably not spend all day in your seat on Centre. Also, security at Wimbledon is super relaxed - if you're high up, then when people leave later in the day you may well be able to walk into some seats which are further forward anyway. In short, seats on Centre are great - enjoy them, but also enjoy everything else which will be going on.

As to how I get tickets, my mum's tennis mad, so when I was a kid we'd go and queue. Back then you could get there at 9am and be on Centre by midday. I've also got a couple of friends who used to work in the industry (a cameraman and journalist) so went a few times with them (sadly Wimbledon has locked down a lot more on them letting guests in now). And Wimbledon is very good at catering to people who play tennis, so tennis clubs get tickets to ballot themselves. I usually get a ticket either through my tennis club or through the public ballot. And if worst comes to the worst and I don't get tickets, I have enough tennis friends to be able to go with someone else.

Brilliant mate thanks very much. Really looking forward to it. Didn’t even think of wandering around. Guess I can play it by ear based on the schedule. I like women’s tennis and think the ladies singles is due to be on that court that day

So I think the way it usually works is that you'll have last year's champions (mens and ladies), plus one other match, on Centre on day 1. I might be wrong but it's something like that.

So you'll see some really good players. The downside is that unless there's a huge upset, the matches on Centre are unlikely to be super competitive (as they'll be the best players versus low seeds or qualifiers). But there will be a ton of first round matches happening on the "outside" courts, which I recall is every court except for Centre, 1-3 and 18 (and possibly 12?) - you can just rock up to those courts, it's unreserved seating and first come first serve (but on many of them you can also stand in the walkways between courts). And you'll usually end up with some really competitive, mini-classics on those courts between players who are still probably top 50 in the world, and often higher.

Last time I went on Day 1 was 2021, I think, and I saw a 19 year old Sinner get taken to 5 sets by Fucsovics on a tiny court. Frankly, Sinner didn't look like much of a player - what he's become is staggering.

Tbh, Centre during the first week is my favourite ticket - you get to watch the absolute top players on Centre, and experience the atmosphere (and it's got a roof, so it and 1 are the only courts with play if it rains), but if you fancy a walk there will be an absolute ton of stuff going on around the grounds as well.
