500Hz OLED Monitors BFI (MPRT) (ELMB) (Ultraclear) Questions + Thread

AI frames
AI Vision

everything is indeed a simulation.

Also turned out I've had reflex on in BF6 and Valorant, so probably every other game that auto turns it on.
Haha, but a good one at that!
Unless you play UE5 games ;) :cry:

Ah great news! That'd be why it's so smoooooth!!! I checked my ping last night on COD for you, 9MS :D
Valorant eh, be careful that naughty Chinese company doesn't steal your data/hack you :P

Yeah at least in Valorant however just native, might be the 1st popular game that will hit 1000Hz in game whenever such monitors are available.

Chance of that happening regardless :D Chinese or otherwise, so at this point if you don't want the data accessed, keep it in cold storage offline.

I only play Valorant to justify my monitor purchase otherwise hard avoid ;) much prefer COD/BF6 type of shooter that's faster paced and doesn't have insane flick shooters, even as a noob I drop into games with laser beam aimers.

I find the safest way to avoid having my data stolen, is to break into unsuspecting neighbours houses at night, and use their computer/game account whilst they're sleeping ;)
Sure they'll end up with all the 'clout' online, player rep and rank wise, but I'll always know it was me on their account that night, shining at the top of the leaderboard :D

Yeah, COD is great when it's not a bunch of campers with snipes boring you too death, I do love owning them with Melee though, sneaking up on them, and then running back to their next spawn point and killing them again :cry: Then ironically I get called a hacker, because I can actually play the game with skill from learning ;)

@Personality+ How have you found the 500hz monitor in general? I'm going between a few different panels at the moment but the idea of 500hz sounds pretty great. I'm not sure my main FPS game (The Finals) would get near 500fps but how does it feel with the MPRT mode?

I saw there's a Gigabyte & Asus model available now too!

Yeah all models have their version

Msi = MPRT
Asus = ELMB
Gigabyte = Ultra clear

But only MSI version stays at 500Hz so can activate on monitor without having to switch frame rate first like on Asus and Gigabyte.

With MPRT make use of night vision and ai vision specifically in my opinion, but if you're unlucky you might notice the strobing effect which I did on FC26 a couple of times in certain matches, not in bf6 or other games yet though like F1 25 or Ninja Garden 4 for example.

MPRT gives you the motion clarity of 500Hz if you can run the game at 250 anyway most games are 240hz lock so 480Hz without the responsiveness (if we can even feel that difference, where as I can definitely see it.

Just to add to my updates - AI Vision option can be too strong at times, which causes the strobing effect to be visible, luckily can not use it (if brightness of display is set to 100) before activating mprt if you can tolerate than dimness or use night vision on normal/strong/strongest to bump up the brightness (all work fine without any issues so far for me) I just noticed that AI can be too strong at times and distort backgrounds even in static images, so perhaps best avoided if you see any anomalies.

Otherwise my fave display I've owned for flexibility of frame rate options to work with thanks to MPRT, also justifies ownership of a 5090 and using MFG with solid base framerates.

Got 3 options to work with to get the results I want now.

Only pet peeve I guess is because the 500Hz is so high simply moving the mouse generates a slight coil whine in GPU when using web browsers for some reason and canva as two examples, different behaviours with different applications.

The only thing that can make me switch from this is that 540Hz Tandem OLED being significantly brighter out of the box + it's ELMB mode being brighter than what's on offer here.

720Hz mode of that display is of 0 interest due to 720p resolution but would be fine for tests at least to see if there's a noticeable jump from 500Hz or do we hit diminishing returns territory (for my eye balls) every upgrade so far I've noticed up to 480Hz

Not sure I can tell 480-540 but from that range to 720Hz should be a slight blur reduction in tests where you can directly compare at least.
