No, I’d not heard of it either, but a new PvE extraction shooter enters the frame where, yes you guessed it, you play as a duck.

Escape from Duckov is a PvE extraction game where you must roam around a map, grab as much loot as you can, then extract from the area without getting killed and losing all your ill-gotten goods. The twist? You're a duck. In fact, it's all ducks. It's ducks with guns and knives murking each other.

Created by Team Soda, a Bilibili game studio, the game launched to Steam on the 16th October. Since then, it has quickly risen in players, shooting up to a peak of roughly 61,000 after one day, before continuing the climb up to its current peak (as of writing) of 221,963.

There’s obvious some appeal there with how many units it’s sold and concurrent players it currently has. Not everyone wants to play PvP and just make progression in a solo game. Especially those with less time and maybe only a few hours to pick up and play a title.

Reviews are great across the board and its hit 1 million sales.
As someone who is simply not into extraction pvp i do enjoy extraction pve like SPT,incursion red river and Grayzone warfare i reckon i would enjoy this despite its ducky name :)
Apparently there are tonnes of quests to do and plenty of content.

Bought it last night but only had 10 mins to play so far. Looks fun, single player rather than mandatory co-op is much better for me, there aren't enough SP games!

Steamdeck compatibility isnt the best yet as it has no controller support but apparently there are profiles for it so I'll try one at some point.

I partly get why people want controller support in this but it looks like you need to be pretty precise and quickly onto the target which simply doesnt suit a controller unless ofcourse they add crazy aim assist which then defeats the whole purpose of the game.
But if controller support sells more then im sure they will look into it.

154,000 playing it right now on steam at 9:40 am on a week day - thats impressive.

Purchased it last night, was having one more extration at 11pm, look at the clock its 2am. Game is superb for a single player game. The world the sounds the mechanics the gameplay all super well done.
This reminds me of FTL, Bastion, Hades, (insert top indie game here)... that are bangers and better than anything tripple A could or would create, develop and release.

Recommend this to anyone whos played and liked a looter shooter game. I will be getting many hours out of this Xmas when I just want something to sit and play single player.

I'm not sure about that, it's a twin stick thing like many other games so should work perfectly well. You don't need to get the crossgair on target as long as you're in the right direction.

Only just got to the warehouse map, have been building up my collection of stuff assuming it'll all be useful for crafting at some point.

I'm playing this on M&K but so many of this style of games are amazing on sticks/controllers. I for one hope its added in - for sit on the sofa and play sessions.

I never heard of this but will keep a watch of it, I have a legion go s and think this would be perfect to play on it.

I've put a few good hours into this and it's been fun, but also frustrating at times, but that's the way of Extraction Shooters and I found the step up from the 1st area to the 2nd area a pain and kept losing my gear.
Overall, enjoying it.
