Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 26th October 2025]

Aside from the wobble - down to a good freekick and the subs being rubbish - that's a great result. I wasn't sure we'd get a draw, nevermind a win.

We just have to keep building momentum, you can already see there's a confidence in the team that wasn't there before.

Can't remember the last time we won 3 league games in a row!

We definitely didn’t turn up in the first 60 minutes of the game. Disappointed as it’s obvious they can obviously be better than that. Being honest, I think partly the manager is at fault putting Minteh on the left.

Decent performance for 15 mins at the end, but was always vulnerable to conceding again with 3 forwards on the pitch. I don’t even think the free kick was amazing, it looked very saveable?

Maybe United have found their flow, but I think if they lose Mbeumo/Cunha they’ll struggle.

Can't blame Amorim, the subs have let him down badly.
He's found a first 11 but it's still one that has weakness. Dorgu has promise but he tries too hard when he comes on and messes up. Zirkzee can go in the window as far as I'm concerned. He doesn't suit the tempo of this system and he was asleep at the 2nd goal. I suspect we might sell Mainoo and I can't argue about that based on him not really forcing a decision. It's tough trying to displace Bruno but Cas is there for the taking. Prob is, I think Kobbie feels he is better than he is.

Liverpool: Mamardashvili, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Salah, Bradley, Jones, Gakpo, Ekitike.

Subs: Woodman, Gomez, Endo, Mac Allister, Chiesa, Robertson, Nyoni, Morrison, Ngumoha

Glad to see Jones keep spot. Not glad to see Salah get right back in. Cheisa over looked again despite yet another assist.

Here's hoping Arsenal and City both slip up, even draws!

Would open the league up nicely coming into the busy period over Christmas!

A man can dream :D

I can't believe they are playing Salah after they played so well in Europe without him.
Well without Isak (who frankly deserves a place no more than Salah), it's Salah or Chiesa. Chiesa has obviously outperformed expectations this season, but there's sense in giving Salah the chance to play himself into form.

I expect /hope we'll use the same formation we played in the week, with Wirtz right and Salah up front.

There is a sense to that and he has had that chance already so now he should be subbed on and earn his space back if does something once subbed on.

The thing is, you don't know what state the game will be in when coming off the bench. If we're 2-1 up with 30 to play do we really want to bring on our most attacking player? Likewise, if we're 4-1 down ( which is hopefully unlikely) he's on a hiding to nothing coming on.

He's meant to be our best player. He's had a kick by being left out in the week. Now tell him to start the match and show he deserves it. If he fails to make the most of it haul him off on the hour.
