Watching that pole lap back that McLaren just rides over the curbs without breaking a sweat. It’s like he’s driving an S class compared to everyone else bouncing over them with their stiff suspension. I really hope he can convert it tomorrow with a nice points difference to Max.

Good qualifying session that, please can we have a decent, non processional race tomorrow.
Best I can do is Ferrari lift-and-coast for most of the race. Norris run in to the distance, and Sainz bringing the safety car out due to some bad driving. Overtaking will be considered a black and white flag offense.

Unless Charles can get Lando at the start, which he has a fair chance of doing given it’s Lando, it’ll probably be a runaway for the McLaren. Ferrari have really struggled with the full race stint.

Just caught up on qualifying highlights, what a tantalising setup. If Norris can win with Max 2nd, Piastri below 6th or something then this final stretch should be absolutely awesome

Watched the qualifying this morning, mega lap by Norris! Hopefully one of the Ferraris can jump him at the start so it makes for an interesting race. Shame that Sainz has that penalty as he was looking brilliant all qualifying. Another strong Q3 from Bearman too, if he can sort his head out a bit (probably just an experience / age thing) he’ll be definitely one of the top competing drivers in a few years.

Piastri is currently doing his best Mark Webber bottle job impression. Makes all the more sense considering who his manager is…

Good qualy. Great lap from Lando. He has to capatlise on this, and hope that Max finds it difficult to get through the Ferraris and Russell. This track clearly doesn't suit the Red Bull as much as other recent tracks so the McLaren boys have to outscore Max here, and stop the points bleed if either of them want to win the wdc.

What has happened to Piastri? Just seems to have completely nosedived in form. You've got to favour Norris out of the two at the moment

Brilliant lap from Norris, wow. Seems like he's really turning up now that the heat is on.

To be fair he's been quick all season, just his poor starts and bad luck let him down.

And this is not the track to get a bad start on either lol. That run down to T1 is brutal. Hopefully he doesn't get swallowed up and spat out by the pack.

Lord knows what's happened to Piastri. Although it makes for some fun reading on Twitter. Some of his fans are in pure meltdown and blaming McLaren for "sabotaging his car" - hilarious.

Read that as non-professional… :D
I mean, Max is starting p5 so let’s wait and see ;)

I think it’s very likely he’ll get taken by a Ferrari (or two) into T1. So it’ll be back to business as usual in here for the Lando “bottlers”, at least for the following laps :p Let’s just hope he can get past them quicker than Austin. As Lewis said the Ferraris have got literally nothing to lose, and it’s the one if the longest straights before turn one, so it really is quite likely.

I’m sure Lando is glad it’s Lewis and Charles right behind him - and not anyone else.

Wonder how much coaching/discussion they'll have given the mclaren drivers over the last week to say if you're ahead of max but not leading don't do anything stupid. Even if lando drops to 3rd off the start it's not a terrible place to be. Race pace looked good Friday and they'll know that. Time to start playing the percentages.
