Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 26th October 2025]

The fact that City are only a point ahead of us, and that we're in crisis, is laughable. At what point does Pep come under a bit of pressure?

So we have gone to pot, city look like they could still have the odd wobble in then.

Arsenal if you don’t do it this year then Arteta won’t ever get you it

The biggest difference I can see with Sesko vs Hojlund is his aerial ability. He wins so many headers so there are second balls to be picked up. Hojlund was awful with his back to goal or when it came to winning headers vs defenders.
Hojlund was just terrible at winning any kind of duel full stop.

He always loses and end up eating dirt, throws his arms out like he got fouled. Its weird because he isn’t small, and he doesn’t have the intelligence to fool
The defence to find that had a yard of space.

It was very frustrating to watch because he is trying hard for the team but failing.

I did enjoy when they were saying Everton are the only team not to concede from a set piece this season as a corner for Spurs was getting underway, only for Spurs to then immediately score from said corner. :)

I broadly agree with what Baz said in the post below you. Its not Jota, its a complete imbalance in your team now. Last season Salah was in insane form, dug Liverpool out of so many holes earlier in the season almost singlehandedly but this season the team is far too attacking minded and its showing.

Its just little things that have changed and its all adding up.

- The lack of defensive balance
- Alisson being injured (again)
- The team not playing around Salah
- Buying too many attacking minded players who all want to score and create but don't want to be defending.
- TAA going which like it or not has removed another cheat card for Liverpool. He wasn't brilliant defensively but again, he would absolutely change some games on his own.

I wasn't super impressed by Slot last season but I honestly didn't think they were going to buy such strange players this summer. Liverpools strength over the past X years under Klopp has been the balance of the side and thats got out of the window. The engine room has been gutted.

I don't disagree with any of this but I wouldn't dismiss the effect of losing Jota either.

I mean, its fair enough to win the league however you have to but Arsenal were a far more exciting team 3 years ago than they are now. They were far weaker defensively though so its obviously a tradeoff.
