Just curious what VPNs people are using on the Apple TV? I want to watch US Netflix and stuff as well as also having a VPN for the online safety act. I'm currently with Mullvad but they do not have an Apple TV app.

I use Nord, I get it for free with Revolut premium which I have for US RSUs.

I'm with you there, surprised it wasn't announced today as well. I'm hoping they might continue the new product update announcements tomorrow, like they've done previously via press releases over 2-3 days.

Right now I can't see Apple doing another product media launch event this year, if they've just released the M5 MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and Vision Pro updates by press release. The only two remaining rumours for product updates were the HomePod mini and the Apple TV 4K.

I hope I’m wrong but the new HomePod apparently isn’t out till next year so I can see the new Apple TV being announced at the same time keeping all the “home” things together

If the current model does what you want, buy it.

PS - I waited for two years for a new Mac Pro, then they released the trash can version. I bought an iMac instead :D
 
I’d struggle to see what a new version would bring over the current? It’s already a powerhouse as far as media streaming boxes go!

That's supposed to be coming in tvOS 26 on the current device.

"Supposed to". I couldn't see it in the release candidates and it's certainly not available in tvOS 26 now. I think the pass through issue is a hardware limitation rather than software anyway. The sound sync issue is definitely software and a bigger pain in the rear IMHO. It's like watching dubbed foreign TV most of the time particularly with Apple TV (the app) programmes
 
Yeah fair most of my issues with that tend to be on Plex but I use infuse which doesn’t seem to have issues for me!

I use Infuse as well. Same issues though not with all files. Haven’t looked into the issue in any detail but I suspect it’s files with Atmos that have the problem
 
The Plex app doesn't like some versions of DV, whereas Infuse plays them directly. If the Plex server is transcoding as a result, that could explain the audio issues.

I’d noticed its dislike for some formats. I’ve had some files refuse to even transcode yet they play perfectly on Infuse. However the audio sync issues aren’t just Plex. The biggest sinner (for the stuff I watch anyway) is Apple TV itself
 
Isn't it odd how things vary - I've never had anything Plex wouldn't play but sometimes found things Infuse wouldn't.

Does Infuse support Plex user accounts yet? It's been a few years since I tried it.
