Video of Sainz going off. Unlikely to be any need for marshalls on track there?

Who cares what mexican fans think anyway
Found the guy who was painting those roundabouts with the flag.

Seriously though, there’s always a villain and it’s usually the dominant team; has nothing to do with Mexican fans. That being said, Norris takes a particular personality to actually like him.

Its the only time he has been booed like that, if at all booed all season. How is it nothing to do with mexican fans? Who is it to do with ? Haha.

What a good race ruined by VSC. Poor from race direction again. They also missed a couple of key parts of the race again in terms of TV coverage where they were showing replays.

The whole "lap 1" forgiveness thing is a joke really they need to change that, otherwise you can tactically cut, clear off and build a ten second lead massively net gaining.

All this bs lap 1 leniency needs to stop, especially with people like max.

You can basically do as you wish and
' soz, lap 1 innit M8 '

I understand it when there has been a bit of wheel banging. However, when some drivers just choose to miss part of the track and gain a huge and lasting advantage, that isn't right. Charles and Max made their races by doing that.

Sends a message to just straight line the first corner - it doesn't matter.

Personally, I’d like Sainz to just sit out the rest of the season. He’s a liability.

I can't see why he'd carry any blame for the technical issues he suffered in this race? He has been involved in a number of dodgy passing incidents but he's also slowly been getting the hang of that Williams and outperforming Albon as tge season goes on.

The only person who took advantage of it was Charles so not sure what you're on about.

There should be some level of leniency for lap 1 given how close all of the cars are, but within reason.

Agree with most people.

Unnecessary VSC at the end. Could have absolutely been under double waved yellows.

Terrible TV directing, missed the marshal nearly being killed, didn't see sainz spin. Just terrible.

I understand Russell being annoyed as they took way too long to make that call.

I think its getting a bit lax over lap. 1. I'd say at this point just dive out the way if it looks like you can. Seems worth the likelihood of a time penalty.

Have norris and piastri had a brain transplant? A few weeks months ago he seemed like a mental wreck and piastri was unshakable. Now it's literally the opposite way round.
Absolute domination by norris.

Great by max as always.

I will say I have a feed which is sky f1. And wow croft is so annoying. He insists he's right when he's just damn wrong. He has this stupid/confident mix and some how comes as patronising to the other commentator. The way he a says it with a "laugh" makes it seem harmless. But it's not. This is especially true with karun. I have someone I know who really reminds me of him. And he annoys me no end. He appears all smiles and nice and harmless. But theres this misplaced arrogance that just feels irritating. It's hard to fully explain. But it really really winds me up. And is so similar to this guy I know in real life.
Confident, jolly, but arrogant and patronising but it's usually just wrong when he makes statements.

Further back as well a few who kept it on track all lost out. I think the focus was on the front 4 - but Piastri definitely lost 2 places by trying to stay on track vs. a few that just run over the grass.

I honestly think they should just put an entire gravel trap on that grassy area currently, it would sort the whole thing out.

As I always say when this gets brought up, anyone who has their own phrase in neon lights in their own home isn’t someone I’d go for a beer with.

Come on now, Max would have ended up about 15th rather than 3rd the way he missed Turn 1, if he hadn't been able to entirely bypass Turn 2 and Turn 3 and rejoin where he did.

I was just being lazy. Definitely similar incidents behind but the focus is generally on the front of the pack.

His entire car was ahead of George, he was alongside the Ferraris and fully on track, then got squeezed wide, took the grass and ended up between Lewis and George.

Far from a rare lap 1 situation. Charles, on the other hand, gained a place off track and kept it.

Yeah, he couldn't make the turn, bypassed the next two corners entirely (as did several others) and rejoined into third place without issue, so the idea that Leclerc is the only one who 'took advantage' of the Lap 1 Leniency is just abject nonsense.

The leniency is becoming a farce really, too many drivers just not even making half an effort to even vaguely follow the track.

Edit - small correction, he rejoined behind Norris, ahead of Hamilton - he lost the spot to Hamilton in later corners.
