Woo-hoo, the clocks go back to GMT next weekend!

Poor Dogo was really confused with walk times. Had to cut things short as it getting too dark to find the ball, so she's not overly happy.

Tomorrow is also the last time I can get home before sunset (assuming i can get away a little early). Won't be able to do that again until early Feb, only 100 days to go :(

The clocks changing never really bothered me until I had kids :o Now with a 3 month old & 3 year old in tow, it's carnage.
Brother in law had his grandkid last night, apparently she woke him up at 5:30am he was already looking a little ragged by the time he got round to see us at about 10:30 (although to be fair he often does when he's had one of the kids), on the up side he pointed out it's helping him stay in sync for his next work shift at 6am tomorrow.

Well I had a fantastic sleep Saturday night with the extra hour, but then drove 200 miles and was flagging by half eight (the new half nine) Sunday night

It seems clear, the vast majority prefer the only sensible time option: BST

Condolences to my brethren suffering these horrific dark awful nights, it was so depressing seeing how fast it got dark last night :( its proper mashed my mind up! Mornings are no different, but we lose an hour of useful light really really makes life so miserably difficult - evening dog walks are no longer well lit, less time at night on the weekends to get stuff done outside (because society forces the clock change on us all, it means shops and other activities with opening times change etc before anyone says the smart ar*e comment about just doing stuff an hour earlier)............just makes life seriously so much more constrained & miserable.

I will forever be baffled why we force this upon ourselves.

What about the kids walking to school in the morning?

Pretty good poll on Facebook from Martin Lewis.

Vast majority want BST all year round.

We may get a reform government... But at least there's sense on the clocks! :D

Yes its clear BST all year works best.

We won't get a reform government, we are only talking about change the clocks 1 hour, not turning them back to 1871 with zero human rights, constant abuses of the working class and vile exploitation by the rich.

Lets pray we limit any time changes to just the hour, thanks!

It's not pitch black in the morning if we kept BST - there is morning light over the horizon.
That depends where you are. Even in London sunrise would be after 9am in deep winter, in Edinburgh sunrise would be closer to 10am. Yes you get some twilight buts it not light and if its cloudy and dull which lets face it is most days in winter it will seem even darker.

Edinburgh - 21st December 2025:

Sunrise - 08:42
Sunset - 15:39

If BST is kept, shift that by an hour. Sunrise at 09:42 and sunset at 16:49
