time to look at swapping when due and tell aviva why. i was with them a while ago no claims or anything then premium went high on renewal so i shopped around and got it cheaper. when i told them i needed proof of no claims for my new insurer they fell over themselves trying to give me lower quotes etc. told them i would consider in a few yearsHere's a new one to me.
My missus got a brand new nissan juke car and switched her insurance for it back in August. Aviva is the insurance company.
On Thursday the power steering went, and so the dealer gave her a demo quasqhai.
Aviva required £18.xx for her to put it on her insurance. Far enough, i thought its a bigger car and likely higher value.
Today she got her own car back. To switch the insurance back to the juke cost her £64. This was the quote from online. I assumed this must be screwy, surely it can't be right. Got her to phone and explain she was simply switching back to the Juke that was on the insurance a few days earlier. But no, that was the charge.
effectively £80 odd to temp cover the loan car for 5 days, for something that was her fault.

had a switch to newer car on aviva last year, I did it online, with a weeks notice and cost nothing, however maybe a 2nd switch would have invoked a charge.Aviva required £18.xx for her to put it on her insurance. Far enough, i thought its a bigger car and likely higher value.

Yeah, this. I’ve never been loaned a car by a dealer or garage and had to put my personal insurance on it. There’s something odd here.Your Mrs mistake was that the hire car insurance would be covered by the dealer, why did she involve her insurance company?
I've been given the option if I want to pay them £20 or similar for their insurance or sort my own but I've never had to sort my own.Yeah, this. I’ve never been loaned a car by a dealer or garage and had to put my personal insurance on it. There’s something odd here.
My renewal went up on the 435d which I was quite surprised about. I got it last year at short notice so wasn't expecting a good quote. Went up from £659 to £692 on the renewal.
Got it for £480 on Go Compare.
Only paying £296 for my Focus RS!!
Why are you messing with your own insurance for a courtesy car? It'll be covered by the dealer. Here's a new one to me.

After a doing a quote a day on GoCompare the lowest price I got with aa known insurer and equal or superior cover was another couple of quid cheaper so with 13 days to go before renewal day I paid 236.52, just over £130 cheaper than last year and for better cover too. Pretty pleased with that.Got my renewal offer today and was surprised to see it's £86 cheaper than last year. As usual I checked GoCompare and found superior cover for a further £42 off so £128 cheaper than last year. That makes a very pleasant change!!
nope, required that it was put on own insurance. Why are you messing with your own insurance for a courtesy car? It'll be covered by the dealer.
How soon does the renewal come through from current insurer these days?I think Martin lewis said its 23 days before renewal is the best time.
