PSG looked dangerous though, even when results werent going their way, we look flimsy even when results DO go our way, I cant for a moment believe that we will go on a devastating win run. Yes its far from impossible but imo its also far from likely. If you asked me to bet real money on it, I'm far more likely to bet on us getting knocked out of the CL and struggling to make the top 4 in the league than I am to bet that we will finish in the top 2 in the league or make the final of the CL.

I'm not sure I agree re PSG 12 months ago. They looked a bit of a shambles. I don't think you'd have bet on them either and I doubt anybody was fancying Real every time they struggled earlier in the CL and then found themselves winning it. To write off the biggest two trophies, regardless of how small you think our chances are, to concentrate on the League Cup imo is mental. If you don't think we can compete in them then I'm not sure why you think we could win the League Cup anyway considering there's still numerous top sides left in it.
 
Spurs been second best all over the pitch tonight.

I think they will be looking forward to the final whistle.

Simple really, because I think that the Carabao cup is an easier trophy to win than the league or the CL, thats why I think we could have won the Carabao cup but cant win the league or CL this season. Surely thats not even a statement thats up for debate, is there anyone who doesnt think that the Carabao cup is an easier trophy to win than the league or the CL?

And to clarify I am not saying we should have "concentrated" on the Carabao cup, its not as black and white as that, I'm saying we shouldnt just throw it away, which is what we have done with this team selection.

I didn't say it wasn't easier. I just don't get the logic of writing off the trophies that matter, believing we have no chance of competing (or even finishing in the top 4), to focus on a tin pot Cup, that if we accept your thinking (that we're going to struggle to even make the top 4), we don't have much chance of winning either. If we don't have much chance of winning this either then surely you concentrate on the greater priorities.

I'm not sure if he's made any other senior appearances but if not then that's 2 red cards in 16 minutes of senior football for the lad :D

Depends how you look at it, I work more on percentages, the chances of us winning the Carabao cup are better than the chances of us winning the league or the CL (this season) , so would I pick this team and throw away the more likely chance , no, I wouldnt.

And yes, I do think we will struggle to finish in the top 4 and am very happy to take anyones wager on it, if anyone is up for a bet :)

If you had a 10% chance of winning £10 or a 1% chance of winning £1m, what are you going for? I'm taking the latter.

so we should concentrate on the carabao cup every season? Afterall its a better bet than either the league or champs league then?

No because as I said, its not black and white, its not "concentrate", not sure why people keep jumping to "concentrate". I never said the Carabao cup should be the only one we try for this season, what I am saying is dont just throw the cup away, which is what this team selection was.

To quote Baz "I'm not sure a manager ever picks a side to lose but this selection was pretty much as close as you could get" - what I am saying is dont pick a side to lose.
