High temps shuts PC down

Hi,

I have replaced my aged Corsair AIO for a Phanteks Glacier One D30 X2 360, Installing was fine, but after watching the temps in the BIOS and when in windows the temperature just keeps rising until the PC shuts down, I have re seated the pump and it's still the same.

I have the cables from the AIO as follows
Four pin from the pump into the CPU pump header on the motherboard, and the fans from the radiator to the CPU fan header.

There is a three pin from the pump but when that's plugged into the pump header the built in fan doesn't spin.

What have I done wrong? My specs are in the sig. Thanks all

When it's all on and running, if you hold the tubes on the AIO can you feel any vibrations? Sounds like the pump might be dead?
Thanks for the suggestion, I just tired that and your right there is no vibrations on the tube or block, I even unplugged the fan on the AIO block to be sure and it's the same. I will proceed to returning it I think.

Also, when you remove the cooler, just check you've removed the plastic film on the cpu block, easy mistake to make :D

A 3700X would run well on a wet fart of a cooling solution, I'm confused as to why you changed shy of a failure? I used to own one myself, it was easily cooled by a budget air/non-aio solution for £15.

The most likely problems are mounting/thermal paste issues, or as mentioned above forgetting to remove the plastic film.

Did you purchase the Phanteks D30 new or second hand?

Morning, the main reason for changing was to do with looks, I am going for a white/ purple theme.

Due to me mounting it twice I ruled that out, and yes I did remove the plastic cover

Phanteks was purchased New.

So after some frustration, Messing with the pile of cables and a couple cups of coffee, I think I have finally cracked it.

There was a 3 pin that wasn't going anywhere and in the sheet of paper called instructions it said 3 pin or 4 pin not both, so once I hooked it all up, the temps in the BIOS are steady now.

Just want to say that I you everyone for there help, I feel a bit of an idiot, I bet in my younger days I would have figured it out
Il post and update once it's all finished.

Possibly referring to the compatibility with 3 pin sockets but sounds a bit like unclear instructions so don’t stress about it, you did the right think checking before doing anything bad :)
