Woo-hoo, the clocks go back to GMT next weekend!

Just propose to change it by 30 mins to settle the dispute. The ones who moan the most are the ones who will get their way. Solomon style innit.
India has a half hour time zone but the sunrise and sunset time varies by 2 hours depending if you are east or west.

If we went back to pre railway era every town would keep a separate time :D

i'm not overly attached to GMT tbh. what has it ever done for the world
In all honesty I'd just be happy if we pick one standard and stick to it rather than mess about.

It's in all probability not a fundamental dimension anyway so we may as well just pick one arbitrary standard and stick to it.

How is everyone coping with these HORRIBLE dark miserable evenings? :( :( :(

Its really getting on my nerves already, have to walk around with a head torch permanently attached to my head just to be able to see what im doing, even around 3pm its so horribly dark - and im just miserable all the time after dinner time now, it goes so dull, then dark, then pitch black at silly early hours.

2 months of misery and then at least I can feel good about it get lighter minute by minute again.

Thoughts with the fellow sufferers :( you weird vampires that for some reason enjoy (?!?) this, get in the bin

I find I'm going into semi-hibernation, going to bed early to my pre-warmed, wool, heavy winter duvet covered bed. :(

I've never understood why the clocks go back about two months before the winter solstice, but don't go forward again until three months after.

If mornings were light enough for BST until the end of October, why aren't they by the end of Feb?

Why do it at all - even Dec 24th the mornings are light enough to go to work etc, its not even essential its bright day light anyway - kids can get to school just fine as well.

Frustrating.
Especially this time of year in the ghetto as fireworks start going off any time after Dusk. Dog is terrified of them and it's a struggle to get him Out before they start now.

Also noticed a mood change in myself. Just have to hope weekends have some light. Which can easily not happen with our gloomy UK winter weather.

I'm loving walking on the dog in daylight each morning or going for a run when it isn't pitch black. And it honestly makes absolutely zero difference to the evenings. It is dark when i finish work, just like it was last week.
