Fodsports headsets ok?

FX-S or M1-S AIR

For personal use only or for intercom duties as well?

I had the Fodsport FX8 a while ago. Intercom was "ok" - nothing great, but just as a headset, it's fine. When it got destroyed I replaced it with a Cardo Freecom 4x which then got replaced with a Sena ST1 Spider as sone of the group I ride with use them in mesh mode.

I reckon the Cardo is the better unit, but the Sena is cheap enough at under £150 - so much so that I got a second Sena to use in my spare lid for when the missus or kids come out

I'm not spending £150. Not unless it includes a 18" subwoofer :D

Tightass

FX8 is fine as a standalone headset and "ok" as a bluetooth intercom It is a lot larger than both the Cardo and Sena units.

Edit: I should add that none of them go as loud as I would like. I wear earplugs and at faster speeds they aren't really loud enough

it's really just the time I use sat nav to areas I'm not familiar with

I won't be using it for phone calls for good reason.
Then the cheaper Fodsport will be fine.

Made calls on both the Cardo and Sena (at 70mph) and both have been clear, with the person on the other end having no idea I was on a bike. Never used the Fodsport to make a call, so can't comment on that, but you say it's for nav only - it will be fine.

Changed order to a Moman H4C as it's got a camera that'll come in handy. If I had one last week I would have sent video of a woman doing a selfie whilst driving to the police

Noob - should have rev-bombed her like a boss!!

Stick up a review of it once you've got it and used it for a bit please. Ta

I might get breakdown cover, just entered in a random 125cc full size motorbike, only £10 a year?!

That seems a bargain, considering if if it breaks down more than a couple of miles away....not like pushing a pushbike.

It's a 125. It has four moving parts. The only thing you could need is a puncture kit, a small socket set so you can access the battery if it dies, and a jump pack to boost the battery if needed.
