Spotify Hi-Fi lossless is (finally) here!

My account got upgraded to lossless last week and since it's happened I noticed my phone battery has been absolutely destroyed by Spotify. Has anyone else found this? Its at 90% of the battery usage, and the battery lasts well under 6 hours. Its an iphone 16 pro so its never been brilliant but its noticeably worst since I switched to lossless.

Had a play with lossless today on my fairly cheapo Sonos system (just a few Sonos Ones, and one Beam, so nothing special). The difference is stunning! Given that I'm not listening on anything that high end I'm pretty shocked.

Might still move to Tidal or Deezer as they both seem a bit less fussed about dumping a load of "social" crap and videos on my homepage and more about listening to music, but I'm so impressed by the audio quality.

£2 increase to family account coming next month guessing it's for providing this among other things.

£21.99 a month now

hitting the limits of what people are willing to pay all these sub services.

Tidal family is £16.99 (sign up on the website not the app) for 6 people. Switching playlists is now pretty easy, was a no brainer for me.

As I've mentioned previously I was on Spotify family and last price increase they tried to soften it with the 15hrs audio books for the main account but didn't make it clear there was a cheaper option without that (which I only used a few times to see what it was like)

Exactly the same here. We musicians apparently do tend to have better hearing if we haven't destroyed it with constant excessively loud music! (My audiologist said mine was the best hearing he'd tested in over 20 years!)

And I'm sure he has never said that to any other patient ever

Not had that issue on 15 Pro Max.

It does annihilate my data when on the move though.

I think it is nice upgrade on terms of sound on the go. I still play Flac or cds at home. Hopefully in a few years time, i will just stream

anyway to disable "lossless" on the currently playing track title ?

when I play via Bluetooth to car etc it says "Track-name Lossless" - don't know why - doesn't say "Track-name Medium" etc ?

sure it's been discussed, but,
unless you have a device with spotify connect (eg Wiim) can you exploit the the 24/44.1 since you need to feed that stream to a dac/speakers avoiding iphone/android 16bit sound mixer.
I have used tidal lossless on windows directly/bit-perfect to an external dac - but what would I do with spotify ?

In CarPlay it always seems to show lossless in the track title, does anyone know of a way to turn this off?

Edit: didn’t see the post a few back, hopefully they fix this!

Thanks to this thread I've now found the Lossless setting, not sure I'll use it mind but at least I have it.

We are a 2.1 family so I naturally have to pay for 6 accounts to get 3.... my only real grumble, the library is decent enough with all the random folk stuff I get asked about at music nights on there.

Was googling about looking for an update on exclusive mode for windows Spotify app and it seems about a month ago the beta got an exclusive mode (assuming WASPI) feature which is good news so should be with us soon hopefully.

even though windows offers lossless spotify doesn't seem to say what is the quality of individual tracks being played.
however, on an adjacent iphone using spotify on same account it has the word lossless next to the current(windows) play back device name ?
maybe windows isn't really offering lossless until exclusive is available ?
