the portal VR mod is easily playable if you have good VR legs.. quite enjoyable actually..

Personally not sure I'd bother with a Half-Life main game title which wasn't quasi open world somewhat The Division style where you could replay mission in coop, etc. and upgrade your crowbar.

There have been a few releases which surprised me where they have announced and released almost immediately (Oblivion for example). I was wondering if it was possible for them having been working on something for years and kept it all a secret and then almost being a few months away from release?

I suspect Valve learned with prior efforts and like HL:A, if they do drop a trailer, I suspect the full release is likely only ~6 months out. I'm not holding my breath though. We've all become old men and women waiting for this franchise to complete.

Outside of a stellar story, I'm not sure what new technology they can truly bring, which has been their mantra for new game releases.
