A new porter forms an odd bond with the youngest daughter of a well-known UK family. As the Davenport family, headed by Lord and Lady Davenport, deals with the epic disaster of the wedding of their eldest daughter to her caddish cousin.

I want to like it but feels like the humour is a bit too overdone and unsubtle - there is a fine balance with these kind of productions between genius and being a bit rubbish.

Though Jimmy Carr as the vicar was a nice touch.

I didn't laugh at the trailer

Not sure that says more about me or the tone of the movie.

I could tell it was written by Jimmy Carr from the general style. I find him more hit than miss, though not one of my favourite comedians but probably worth watching just once.

Generally, though not always, I find Jimmy manages to hit the right spot without taking a joke too far (I was tempted to add an extra r there), but the trailer just doesn't land like typical Carr though there were a few moments of genius a lot of it was either base crude humour which isn't actually funny or overdone.
 
meh - looks crap. Is this the best he could do? He's supposed to be a comedian, but this is all very basic and amateurish .
Fart jokes really??
