Hi,

I’ve been away from gaming for a while now, so I’m feeling a bit out of the loop.

I’d like to play BF6, ideally at a solid 60 FPS at 1080p.

This will only be used for gaming, and only for BF6, so please spec the absolute bare minimum to meet the requirements :)

There’s no budget as such, just the cheapest possible to meet the requirements

Thank you!

Minimum I'd want to suggest for a new gaming PC (doesn't matter the game) is a 5600/12400F with a 9060 XT 16GB/5060 Ti 16GB. Problem with those CPUs is that DDR4 is too expensive new and limited upgradability.

AM5 would be better, but that'll need DDR5.

Note: no WIFI on the board.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £644.93 (includes delivery: £11.98)

Wow, I’m impressed. That seems to be very capable for the money!
You're welcome, but note that I assumed you're buying 32GB of DDR4 used! :o

There's a CPU cooler in the CPU box.

If you can get the 14400F for not much over the 12400F, that's a better CPU (has 4 E-Cores).

If you plan to buy the DDR4 new, then I'd suggest you either go AM5, or get a DDR5 motherboard and DDR5 RAM instead.

Turns out a friend has a spare Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB DDR4 Ram and a 600w PSU, I think Corsair.

Given this, would you change your recommendation?

Yep! I'd use that instead and remove all the parts you don't need from the spec.

The 8400F has half the L3 cache of a 7600 for similar cost, that makes a massive difference in games. It's a very, very poor recommendation over the 7600, not sure why you'd do so?

The rest of your suggestion is questionable also.

I actually edited the build and changed the 8400F to a 7600X upon realising that. :)
Not sure what else is questionable though.

There is nothing wrong with the 8400f if the price is right. The 7600 is faster but it’s also a lot more money. The 7400F is another decent option if the price makes sense.

The 8400F is also a bit of an overclocking champ.

You guys are over-speccing the GPU: the Arc B580 will more than do and is on special offer on OCUK and includes BF6 for £200.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £199.99 (includes delivery: £0.00)
Oof! That’s incredibly appealing, I don’t own the game yet.

I had no idea Intel made GPU’s, is there anything to be aware of?

So, do we think the free Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB DDR4, and the Intel GPU would be enough to play BF6 comfortably?

Any idea when the special offer ends on the B580? Do OcUK advertise end dates for these things?

Intel are very much the junior, new, competitor and performance is lower, as is reflected by the price. But performance is good enough.

It will give you a good start. You can always upgrade later - a Ryzen 5700X3D will be transformative, for instance.

What Motherboard is it.

For an intel GPU you need ReBAR for it to work well.
I don’t have a Motherboard, I’d have to order one to go with the Ryzen 5 3600. A friend is gifting me the CPU RAM and a 600w Cooler Master PSU
