I bought a used 5700G for £50 to go into my NAS ITX system from HardwareswapUK on Reddit.

It was advertised as partially working with only 1 RAM channel functional.

It works fine with both RAM channels and I think the seller had a faulty RAM stick or motherboard or hadn’t seated one of the components properly.

anyone else had a little win like this?

Odd as these issues are normally related to the likes of bent pins in the socket but as am4 not really the case, maybe not seated correctly as you said.

Glad it worked out for you.

Absolutely, you are correct. So I thought that there would be bent pins on the CPU when I bought it because of the claimed faulty second channel but it's in mint condition. I even asked him if he dropped it as that can affect the CPU in a similar way but he hadn't. I just think he messed up his fault finding process.

i assume this is where the seller gets a replacement cpu and discovers they still have the same problem and it later works out they have a dead ram stick/motherboard loose connection or something lol
