NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

I've been doing some more testing and as I hoped the 5090 is an absolute monster for VR.

MSFS (the previous version, so no eye tracked foveated rendering) running on Quest Pro virtual desktop 'godlike' at 90fps with DLSS turned on, at extremely high detail levels. I remember this reprojecting like crazy on the 4090. Running about 75fps with no DLSS, so I could drop down to 72hz to keep it smooth.

I believe the hdmi port on mine has failed, currently engaging for a return.
Also I never knew that you could output from igpu but still use the GPU for gaming, only found that out today.

Damn, on the other hand could have been something worse, so of all the issues I'd say one of the better ones to deal with, hopefully fast enough turn around.

Yeah, although I'm still not sure if this is linked to a different issue I was having with my PC where it was randomly restarting and failing to start up again.
It's all been very strange but the only thing I can replicate for sure is no output through that HDMI port on multiple motherboards

Someone made a good point that my CPU could be faulty as that has the pcie controller on it, so it might not be my GPU at all, GPU is going back to get tested though as I have no spare CPU and cba to acquire one just for this. Also I can't test the DP port so probably premature to say its a faulty HDMI port or worse.

Yeah was watching a livestream yesterday unrelated to that rumour and they were saying to expect GDDR7 prices to sky rocket out of control as well after DDR5 has already done so.

Datacentres > consumers
RTX5000 Super cards reportedly cancelled due to cost and supply issues with GDDR7 memory
