Apparently this is on Nov 19th...

My question though is this - Did anyone here know this was an actual thing?

It seems nearly every day is an international ‘something’ day. I had heard mention of international men’s day but like any other of these things I tend to ignore them. Knew it was coming up, wasn’t aware of the specific date.

Yes I did know there was some type of mens day or mens mental health day, men and boys day or some other type of men related days.

I remember my work (public sector) had a week of talks and seminars a couple of years ago to mark the occasion. All sorts of topics from male patterns of abuse, toxic masculinity, recognising male privilege etc. Didn't feel like dialing in to any of them for some reason.

very sexist innit

I think I'd rather be a woman. Well, as long I was born in the western world. I'd be rich off OF! <3

Being a western born female between 1995-2005 + if you're moderately competent is basically winning the birth lottery.

Supporting "Men's Day" should matter, tons of mental illness related issues and many lean into suicide. Men do not complain, they just get on, and that's a problem.

It is. Sometimes, the getting on with it only goes so far. Losing a friend to suicide is ******* horrific. Men are still human.

The first funeral I ever attended was as a mid teen, a guy I knew hung himself. I'm 41 and the number of male suicides related to people I know is in the double digits, I know it's anecdotal but it's still **** and far too many and when you look into the rates beyond my insight they're shockingly high.

Male mental health management is horrendous tbh.
