Yes. It has been for about 50 years.
First time I’ve heard it referred to as a big derby mind.

Rivalry is a better word for it, personally I think it’s a bit pathetic but we’ve gotta have at least one enemyFirst time I’ve heard it referred to as a big derby mind.

First time I’ve heard it referred to as a big derby mind.
It has been referred to as such for years.
People need to remember that it isn't just about distance. People from Sarf London, in and around the Selhurst Park area, are on a direct train line to Brighton. It is as easy to get to Brighton as it is to Central London. We grow up going down to Brighton at weekends and during the summer.
Also, (discounting Crawley Town) Palace is the closest club to Brighton. For Palace fans, there are closer clubs, but those clubs are not a shorter travel time from. Palace are basically on the southern outskirts of London and other London clubs might be closer in miles, but a longer journey in travel time. Clubs like Milwall, Chelsea and Fulham are all much closer but try getting to them on a Saturday afternoon from Croydon
Sounds like more of a beef DerbyFirst time I’ve heard it referred to as a big derby mind.
If I’m being honest, none of that makes it sound like it’s a big derby but yous do you I guess.
The Old Farm Derby (Norwich v Ipswich) and the South Wales Derby (Swansea v Cardiff) are both further apart geographically.
Like I said, we are the closest club to Brighton.
