The Manchester United Club Thread

The seem to have gone from being terrible week in week out to playing to the opposition level with the occasional higher performance. I honestly dont know what to say about this team any more. They really should have got a win or 2 in the last 2 weeks, but considering where this team was last year i guess you will take it. I do like Lammens a lot though.

Although the draw against spurs is disappointing it's 100% a game we would have lost not so long ago!

Need some business in midfield soon, Uncle Case can't go on forever!

Lammens has made a huge difference. In general our transfer business has been excellent recently, which is a huge plus. Albeit Jury is still out on Sesko, but we are working well with Cunha/Mbuemo/Mount so he has time.

Always takes players a good length of time to adjust to the physicality and pressure of the PL. I'd rather we didn't buy from outside the league, but if we do, you need to be prepared to give them the time to settle in.

Sesko isnt banging in the goals but his overall play is better than Hojlund. I mean he has a couple of goals so far, so we know he can score. I have high hopes in him, then again I said that about Hojlund. meh, guess we will find out at some point.

whether it means much - hearing reports that he's first in and last out of training ground working hard on his game etc.

Sesko still doesn't get much service (lack of crosses etc) but overall team looks better.

Lammens seems to at least instill come confidence in the back line.

In some good news. The women's team are 3 from 3 in the Champions League. They just beat PSG at OT 2-1.
Two (actually 3) cracking goals. The second in particular was a brilliant team goal which started with the team playing out from the back. The lass Park is exceptional. No faitytale return to OT for Mary Earps.

Quite a good video here regarding our results when we're not on the front foot in games and hitting teams on transition, versus when we have the ball and can't unlock a team.

Shocking game vs everton... why we still playing 5 at the back when they are down to 10 men! How is luke shaw still playing? Bruno needs to be hooked in games if hes not at it! played awful nothing like a team! hard watch...

Because Amorim doesn't know or is unwilling to adapt or play any other way. All the top managers adapt. They have their formation but they adapt. When the opposition goes down a man they will adapt to try and capitalise. Plenty of teams with 4 at the back will change how many defenders they leave back. Amorim? Nah. 3 CBs sitting deep. All game. Against 10 men behind the ball. So 7 vs 9. Makes it so easy for the opposition.

Yep I've had my "fill" of Amorim now. Especially so after Monday as that, if anyone was unclear, was the clearest display of ineptness you need to see.

I’m trying my best not to be Amorim out, otherwise I’ll be of a certain mindset before each game and it’ll ruin my enjoyment (if any?) I may get from watching!

I can’t see them getting rid anytime soon, unless it’s a losing streak of at least 6 games with players downing tools.

Basically, we will continue to have decent performances where Amorim's setup suits the opposition and circumstances. But where sides have us figured out we will continue to be absolutely dire and just bang our heads against the wall rather than make changes to suit the situation.

Exactly. Will he be sacked mid-season with this pattern? I don't know. Surely they have to be expecting some sort of european football at the end of this season. They certainly shouldn't be spending any money on anything but a CM this January for him and that CM should 100% be with a view that he might not be here next season.

Well according to reports few months back they are giving him 3 years!! perfect year to at least be looking at top 4 finish with how other teams are performing but we are way off that with performances like that against Everton. going to be a hard watch vs palace on Sunday!

To be fair, if we can get some good CM and a couple good wingbacks we might be able to make it work more often than now.

I think the main stumbling block right now is that for Amorin's system to work, we really need to offload Fernandes for Saudi money and spend that on a replacement......but he doesn't want to leave.

I agree with Bruno but he should have been showed the door in summer he's never been captain material all I see him do is moan and throw tantrums yeah he might have moments in a game or have a decent game but more often than not he's average for me. Why can't amorin have a look at some youth talent sure we have 2-3 players in those positions worthy of a shot? At least they will show passion and give 100%
