The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

My 9070XT seems... fine, but I think the CPU bottleneck is hurting it. The main issue is funding the replacement parts!
That said, the latest drivers buggered battlefield 6 up something awful, and it started recognising it as "Elder Scrolls Online" again, which is frustrating. It also keeps failing to detect the FPS on the overlay.
ARC raiders is also constantly complaining too.

I have a 7700 it's not CPU limited, games are 100% GPU usage

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 9070xt Pulse. Best value right? It'll only be connected to 1 4K monitor. Is Arc Raiders running OK? That's my main game

I am still after a damn 9070 non-XT with Samsung GDDR6 and from my research it seems the 9070 sapphire pure (3 fan) and the powercolor red devil is likely the best bet I can make providing they are from new batches but its still ultimately a lottery. Was kinda hoping to pick one up on the members market but I guess with this close to christmas its unlikely people are going to be selling their GPU's :)

( Card will be going in a low airflow enviroment so the lower GDDR6 temps the better, also I am switching full time to linux so having a AMD card over an Nvidia one is beneficial )

Arc raiders and bf6 run very well on the 9070xt. Put a lot of time into both over the last few weeks. Not sure on exact FPS as I run a fps cap of 120 on my monitor as feel no need to go higher but if need be I can test it tomorrow.

Running 1440p so results might not be that meaningful to you

Bought my Pulse 9070 from 'elsewhere' in July and it has Samsung memory, from what I've read its the early releases that didnt have Samsung.

Need other 9070 owners to come in with some info on this though.

I guess the only real way I can guarentee the latest batch is wait for those currently out of stock on OCUK like the Powercolor Red Devil. Ideally I would have loved to get the Sapphire 9070 Pure ( fits my goals and also has Honeywell PTM7950 :D )

the new 9070 sapphire pure and pulse i just got have Hynix

thats assuming Powercolor switched to samsung

Most of the AIB's have for their later batches switched to Samsung over Hynix for the lower temps but there's still a chance the cards can have Hynix ram even in the later batches. However the later the batch the more likely the cards are to have samsung GDDR6 but of course the only way I could for example guarentee samsung is if I were to buy a card second hand with it 100% confirmed. From my own research it roughly looks like a 20% chance across most AIB's for the cards to have Hynix ram in later batches with Sapphire's top cards (PURE/NITRO+) having the highest chance of Samsung GDDR6 in the latest batches ( roughly 10% chance of Hynix on latest batches ) while ASUS TUF/Dual has the lowest chance in latest batches in ( roughly 25% ). It's still ultimately down to luck :)

Got my 9070XT and it still struggles with Orcs must die: deathtrap :D

The upscaling works pretty well to get more frames though

Got my 9070XT and the coil whine is pretty insane. I cant game with it. My old 6900XT didnt have any whine, or it had very little in the game menu but as soon as my card ramps up the whine comes in. Is there anything I can do or is this a return?

Limit framerate to your display. Mine whines if I leave it uncapped but 180hz it's ok.
