@Calpol No criticism of Amorim, just the players?

I think a lot likely falls on the players. Manager or not. Those players should be doing a lot better last night. Regardless if coaching or system. but Amorim needs to accept he needs to adapt to be successful.

Not changing any kind of style to suit situations is crazy. I don’t get the insistence to be so unyielding. It’s not a criticism of his preferred style to capitalise on situations.

This is just bonkers to me as well. They had almost the entire game at home against 10 men yet just kept it the same defensive structure with 3 CB. Although you look at it and you just think in reflection we're still completely over rating Man Utd expecting them to beat Everton. They're about the same standard of team.
Need new cm tbh Fernandes playing in the middle dosnt work and never has.

Casemiro way past his best now.

Casemiro has been past his best since Madrid let him leave but having said that he's been pretty good this season when he plays but is knackered after an hour.

He's been pretty average up to now. Think there's a lot more to come from him.
What's become clear to me, not just based on the last match is he has to play centrally to get the best out of him. Playing out wide he's struggled a bit and I also think being relatively two-footed really helps in central positions because you can go either side without trying to engineer the ball onto your strong foot. It's like Cazorla, he'd have been wasted playing out wide.

The question then becomes whether he's just an understudy for Odegaard, a genuine rival for the shirt, or you rejig the tactics to fit them both in. At this point, I'd say it's likely the former, he's still backup player but a good demonstration of the investment in squad depth paying off. Trying to shoehorn him in on the left wing I don't think is the answer, I'd rather have Martinelli or Trossard there.

Not at his best but still better (when in form) than anyone else we have.

Whilst people are right to be annoyed with United. I think a sense of perspective is required. The midfield issues have been obvious for a while, and we knew the season would be tough without new players there. We also knew we would still have striker issues.

I've said it a few times. Top 10 is where we are going to finish realistically, worse if we hit a bad patch of form. So we shouldn't be surprised when we lose to any team. Annoyed yes but surprised no.

Everyone should be held accountable, the players, the manager, the owners, the mascot and the dinner ladies, if we have any left. Do they just use microwaves now?

But we shouldn't still be drawing and losing like this little run. Yes we should be having the odd bad game but we shouldn't still be struggling in most games.

Based on what though, this was the same team as last year bar the keeper and Mbuemo.

Did you see the antics of the players after the game, most of them on their knees looking drained, feeling sorry for themselves and apparently looking for sympathy...what the heck was that all about ?

Based on the fact Amorim has to be judged before he gets another 6-7 new players. Hes had a proper pre-season. Hes got a single game a week. He has to deliver more. He has to show more. Everton go down to 10 men. What does he do to capitalise?

Based on recent history that isn't going to happen imo.
