I think just to get into gaming again I’m going to go with original mobo.

Cool, it makes sense, the board is plenty good enough to get back into gaming. Note the lack of WIFI/bluetooth though.

Went for an MSI Mag from elsewhere. Seems to get some good reviews and to be honest a brand of PSU I’ve had before. Hopefully won’t nuke the system!

It says it is only compatible with Intel Core Ultra.

Will it take much tinkering to get it to work with AMD (if it will work)?

I did look at this but as already mentioned it was intel only.

The ram was a tough swallow but it’s only maybe £100-£120 more and I’ve the next few years it’s nothing really.

Good job I ordered when I did…ram has shot to £299.99 and the gfx card is back to £315!

AM5 is supposed to get support eventually, but currently they only work in bypass mode. THG said 7000 series CPUs didn't even boot, but 8000/9000 did.

MSI have said their latest boards will work with CUDIMMs with the latest CPUs and I can see them mentioned in the specs.

It does seem like a good deal if it is a 16GB GPU and does include Windows, but is it from a reputable seller? (do not say where from if not OCUK)

Problem was the prices just kept creeping. 5070 is another £160ish
