It will be exciting whatever the outcome!

I think any of the three deserve this WDC, and I would prefer a new champion but you cannot ever deny the sheer force of will and competitiveness that is Max. If it were “equal machinery” then he would clearly be dominating.

Oscar’s fantastic performances mostly in the first half were championship worthy, Lando bouncing back also has been a great story to witness. I just hope Max keeps it clean and we don’t end up with a controversial title decided by the stewards again. Max is good enough he can win without dodgy tactics, it really is annoying when he feels as though he needs to push the boundaries of sportsmanship. That said I was an M.Schumacher fan so…

Agreed with above post though- if I was Leclerc or Hamilton I’d be on the plane back before the podium is done (figuratively - are they staying for testing?).

Thanks @chrismscotland

When Max wins the championsship how will it go down in the history books compared to other seasons?

Rooting for Lando though of course!

His 2nd championship on the back of someone else f ing up.

Credit to Max though, i doubt any other driver would still be in contention with the rb.

I think Max deserves this one just for the epic comeback, but would be good to see a different winner.

Same. For me in order of preference Max because of the epic comeback, Oscar because of the way McLaren treated him in last few races, out of the three I like him the most and I was fan of Mark Webber, Lando.

Unfortunately I'll probably miss the race. We're staying at my parents this weekend, dad's birthday on Friday, niece turning 18 on Saturday so big family meal on Sunday and there will be too much going on to watch it.

If I were Lando, i would be staying clear of everyone on the first corner.

The car should have the natural pace to finish at least 3rd easily, and you can at least overtake in Abu Dhabi (unlike Qatar)

If Lando can't get out front or knows he can't make an easy pass early I've noticed he drops back from the dirty air a bit then plays the tyre game. He tends to start clawing it back later on. If he can keep his head and only worry about that podium spot he can't go wrong really.

All three deserve it. Lando has been a bit part of McLrens success in some ways so it'll be sweet to see that pay off for him, especially after all the ridiculous social media hate he gets for being a young man wearing his heart on his sleeve. He's had to race against Max and Oscar at the end of day who are both equally deserving. It's his to lose, but I do hope he wins the race as that would cement his success having more wins at the end of the season and finish on a top note.

Hopefully the FIA behave themselves this weekend too. Clean quick decisions. Can't have a WDC trophy given out only for someone to get disqualified or dropped 10 seconds after the fact.

Yeah I doubt he or his fans care how he wins it. After all, it's not his fault that McLaren have capitulated.

I'm just saying, you're in 1 of the top 4 teams, getting paid millions every year with no other options, as are many other drivers.

I guess it's funny that you said loyalty and not talent.
That’s fair, I think my mind was wandering back to when he let Danny ric win and he said he was with McLaren for the long haul.

Doesn't that apply to every winner on literally everything? Someone, something has to be the ones that mess up. Feels a bit cheap of an angle tbh. These are multi million dollar companies were talking about

Not really, Max has enjoyed a rather unique set of circumstances that he has been able to capitalise on this year having benefited multiple failings from another team, he even says so him self, I cant think of another such occurrence with perhaps the exception of Kimi'07 also at the failure of Mclaren (assuming Max wins it this weekend), thats not to take anything away from Max, he's done nothing wrong, well not in the realms of Schumacher or Senna.
Im sure there are other occurrences in previous years but to be fare, unreliability was par for the course rather than the exception.

12 points is just too much of a gap ultimately. Wish Antonelli had been able to keep it on the track last race.
I’m expecting huge anti-climax, but you never know.

Stolen from elsewhere

Far short of Lando having a mechanical or Oscar taking him out OR Michael Masi coming back as Race Director i think it's going to be hard to beat him.

EDIT *** That being said on this wekends form it might be worth a punt at Lando coming 4th and Max winning **** George could put a spanner in the works here though and will Oscar play team orders ?

Incredible to see a three way fight at the final race. First time since 2008, isn't it? I think Norris is the most likely to emerge with the crown. I back Piastri to win the race, but Norris to do enough to keep stay ahead on points. It's been a rollercoaster season with Piastri late season collapse and Max's incredible charge. If Norris loses he can blame McLaren, if Max loses he can be happy he made even a fight of it, but Piastri? He can only look in the mirror, or perhaps nurse the bitter seed of what happened Monza depending on how close it is, and hope that he gets another shot at the title. You'd think a driver as talented as him is likely to but F1 rarely has more than a couple of seats you can win a WDC from and with so many talented drivers around he could easily fall between stools.

Yeh. There would have to be a big event that upturns the race, or a mechanical failure for Norris not to take it really.

It's likely Piastri will be in the top 4 too, and if Piastri is winning, Lando only needs 5th and if Max is winning Norris only needs 4th as long as Piastri is between them on the last lap. I don't see Piastri not dropping back to hand Norris the title at that point.

If Max is winning , with Norris 4th and Oscar is between them on the last lap/corner with no hope of passing Max, Oscar gains nothing by not letting Norris by. Even if it finishes with Max 1st, Oscar 2nd and Norris 4th, Oscar still finishes 3rd in the championship. The ONLY benefit would be to have an extra podium to his racing record.

If he didn't, it would be purely out of spite and I just don't see how he and the team would have a working relationship next year. He would have cost McLaren a his teammate a WDC for zero benefit to himself.

PS. that's a horribly made chart!!
