Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I don't know either way... I'm just being logical..
A platform fee is surely a fee accociated with buying and selling, as if you don't pay the fee you can't be on the platform to buy and sell in the first place?
Unfortunately not. To be deductible, the expenditure must have been incurred wholly and exclusively for the purposes of the acquisition or disposal. A custody fee or lack of trading fee is something you pay regardless of whether you made a disposal or not, it's not related to the disposal.

They are playing chess and we are just playing checkers. Some of us think we are playing chess as we are using the chess pieces but moving the pieces like if it’s a game of checkers, thinking we are playing it right.

This ain’t a tin hat theory, just that the governments set the rules of the game by listening to the financial institutions. They know the game better than us.

Casing example was that “lovely” shares bonus my employers gave to us right before the end of the tax year. They didn’t want to pay corporate tax on it, so they gave it as a taxable benefit to us as shares, where we have to pay the tax on it.

This basically put my taxable income into the next bracket and would cause me to lose some tax free allowances. So o just had to salary sacrifice the same amount from my wages.. fill out a form declaring to tax me the amount now rather than at point of sale. But the shares value that they put in holding looks like it’s missing the taxable amount.

Of course our yearly cash bonuses look like it also had the shares value taken from it..

Am trying to buy some ALRT at 1.35 but it refuses to go there it seems.

I'm down 67% on ALRT, fun times.

Thankfully only £60 as I'm just blagging the IG bonus but still, that's quite a spectacular drop :p

GME is doing ok this week, almost at break even from when I bought. I set a sell limit for slightly above break even so I can move that cash in to my ISA and buy some ETFs with it. Cba with the uncertainty of it all atm.

THanks guys for your input regarding the custody fee, to be fair my default was that it WAS an allowable deduction, so I'm grateful to those that indicated it wasn't and in particular to @radderfire who took the time to correct himself and included a link to the appropriate part of the HMRC docs that confirms that. I'd have never found that particular doc. Nice work.

Up 15 percent on meta 3x long.

Close to selling that one out. Not bad.

Edit.
Looks like meta popped and the leverages are struggling to keep up.
Now 25 percent!

Apparently meta is cutting metaverse spending by 30 percent. Great stuff! Obviously the market also hates it! :D

I have also bought AMSC as I also think this is oversold.

I wonder how long I will keep bgeo because unless things go to **** it's got massive potential?
It probably needs a stock split as its approaching 100 pounds a share!

One of my favs.

You guys can mock (I know you love it)

But multiple stocks I've bought in last 2 weeks are up 20-30 percent.
Are any down?

BBAI
LUNR
RKLB
UEC
Meta x3+

These guys had big falls. And I remember seeing BBAI was actually profitable last qtr?

Only one down is micron.

I would never trust it.
I trust myself more than software. I'd rather it be my mistake. Too many scenarios. And not the same as aviation.
It is very impressive what they have been able to do, but handling all the edge cases safely is incredibly difficult and is likely to be impossible. That said, overall they are probably safer drivers than humans and would save lives overall. That still doesn't mean I would trust it though.

Agree. I'm sure with the average is better.
I just wouldn't trust software/AI etc yet with so many variables.

Light conditions, clothing, angles.

Around here (the ghetto) you get these kids on black scooters, no lights, all dressed in black. Can this edge case be trusted yet?
Who is liable for fatalities?

Not for me, certainly not yet.
If I'm too old or something to get about, sure. But not now
