Just ordered a new Dishwasher after waking up to an Error code on our current one. Checked my Emails for the Invoice to find out it was exactly 10 years and a day since I ordered it

Error code: 10 (give us more money).
In fairness the error code was relating to the heating element, so it could have been fixed - but a quick look around and it would be £85 for a replacement (and whose to say that something else might not soon fail).

Hopefully I get 10 years out of it's replacement - which surprisingly is still the same price for a very similar model.

I really just cannot be bothered to put up the Christmas decorations this year.

All seems so pointless and short lived and such a massive amount of effort just to have less space in the living room and a tree and some lights.

Feek hasn't unpacked Mariah yet either.

Paid £6 extra for next day delivery yesterday for something I've ordered online. Delivery policy said 2pm (Mon to Thurs) is the cut off for next day delivery. I placed the order at 12:02 and received email confirmation a minute later.

Fast forward to today, no dispatch email, no tracking email from DPD, etc. Well then...

I get that Christmas is coming up and all, but at least mention the fact that it may not possible to meet next day delivery during busy periods before I waste my money paying them to deliver next day.
This has happened to me several times lately. One was ordering money from the Post Office! Confirmation it would be with me 48 hours later and then no tracking email, no confirmation from courier... Arrived a day late and then a few days later I got all the tracking emails at once.

Edit: actually I think I got a tracking number but it never showed as collected.

You'd think they'd be a bit more reliable!

I received a dispatch email this morning. My parcel looks like it's on track of being two days late, so not sure why I've had to pay next day delivery, as the order costs enough to qualify for free standard delivery...

They haven't responded to my email either, and given that it's just £6, I can't be bothered to pursue it. Ridiculous either way.

Good news, they responded to my email minutes after I posted here this morning. It's not DPD's fault though, as the company themselves were late in dispatching, at least according to receiving the dispatch email only this morning. All's well that ends well though.

We are sorry to hear that your order did not arrive with a next day service as you selected. We hand over all parcels to carriers in good faith that they will be delivered as instructed and we are sorry this has not been the case in this instance.

We have now initiated the refund and the funds will be returned to your original method of payment within 7-10 business days.

Sitting on a bus in HK, it’s like 80min journey and the 2 men behind me are having the most riveting conversation involving things such as

This roundabout is too tight for a bus.
I used to work here and have to cross this road.
This bus is new and roomy
Bus station busy at peak hour
The government put on a special bus service in this area after a vote
Etc

I’m trying to take a nap but this bus talk is so dull it’s actually keeping me up. I’ve never knew you can have small talk about buses for this long.

Heard a thud from the living room, went through to see what the cats were getting up to now. Discovered Coach scrabbling at the corner of the big floor-to-ceiling window trying to reach a squirrel that was outside, while the squirrel looked at her looking entirely unbothered. I can just imagine it thinking "there's a window there, are you stupid?".

The grass needs mown before sunset, it's 5.15pm, and still 27°C. It's going to be a hot one. Volunteer welcome!
