He wouldn't have any of those stats if he had moved to a team other than Merc. F1 can't have a GOAT.

If Lewis was that great, he'd be doing far better that he currently is in that Ferrari. Alonso managed to Tokyo Drift that 2014 disaster to better positions.

He's also been beaten by a few team mates.

Does this make Leclerc a monkey? He’s doing considerably better in it. I’d expect Hamilton to be able to keep up after a year in this car.
We’re not exactly seeing Charles racing for wins let alone podiums either, recently. He’s only going to finish one or two places above Lewis in the WDC when all is said and done. Leclerc is a tremendously fast driver, him lolling around in the midfield is very damning for Ferrari.

And reminder, Schumi was at Ferrari for 4 years before he won anything.

Back to the action, Tsunoda should be out and Bearman in Q3. Track limits imo.

But has had the strongest teammates of anyone in the field by a large margin

Alonso
Button
Rosberg
Russell
Leclerc

3 champs and 2 of the fastest guys in the current field. Bottas wasn't a bum either. Kovalinen is the weakest team mate he has had.

He was a double world champion in his prime though, not 40 years old!

Fair point, can't really argue with that.

McLaren on used rubber for the first times, this will be very tight when everyone is on fresh sets.

"Cheap advantage"? How bitter are you? Plenty other teams would have done exactly the same, McLaren's problem, not other teams
It’s a cheap advantage when compared to a team that has two good drivers both trying for pole. Don’t get your panties in a twist.

Button, Rosberg really wasn't that good of drivers they got lucky at the time.

Look at LecLerc now he is in same car and gets to Q3 every time yet LH can't even get out of Q1 that is down to driver.

Alonso has been in awful cars yet he manages to drag them up.

Bottas didn't have that extra which Champs have he is solid driver and was always the number 2 driver that was very clear.
