UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 11th December 2025]

Thats an awful decison to give that. Thats a classis. That would result in 3 penalties and 4 fouls on defenders at every set piece if you want to give those.

Normally does result in that outcome in European games, though by their handball rules the first goal should have stood.

Same as the PL, refs have their own rule books

Yeah kind of my feeling. It's a soft penalty, but easily avoided - don't grab a fistful of shirt in the penalty box

Like all these things though, you can't say "don't grab a handful of shirt" whilst for the other 89 minutes thats been absolutely fine. Either you punish them all or you only punish the egregious ones. That wasn't egregious.

Yeah I'm largely with you. All I'm saying is that if you do it, you run a risk.

Obviously the officiating needs improvement, my point is more about the decision of the defender.

I think that's pretty good to be honest. We managed the game well, looked solid, and brought on a couple of attacking changes later on who made a difference.

If we were a team in form, people would be saying great game management and a good performance.

What do you think should happen before its a foul? What bar are we using for "egregious"?

Its such an obvious penalty lol.

Good win away at a team that hasn't lost at home in European for ages, hardly let any goals in and always score at home.

A slow plodding performance but Inter plodded more, so a decent much needed result

When the player is directly impeded from going on goal. Not when hes got his back to the goal, defenders everywhere and he goes down after the pulling stops.

What do you think should happen during the shirt pulling that goes on at every set piece in the box? Penalties or free kicks?
